Hi All,

Just got new my car last week, direct trade in my old car to Perodua Sales branch. Initially i plan to wait around 1 to 2 months. I was surprise the SA call me my car has arrived just in 3 weeks only.

And for the Perodua Smartlink i google for this app call easy connection apk file version 3.0.3 (both are develop by the same company) and install in my android 11. Its working flawless and can use the Mic button on steering for Google Assistant.

Dont use the newest version 4.0 and above. Its 60mb and buggy.

What's your variant and colour?

I just signed loan agreement today. Wonder how long it'll take, pretty sure productivity during Raya week will drop drastically sweat.gif

All you guys so desperate to get an ativa. I hope y'all would reconsider the low spec Yaris or city.

As someone who has 3.2k on the odometer since CNY, I am somewhat regretting my decision on choosing the Ativa.

The car has wayyyy too much rattling noises coming from the dashboard and the door panels. The suspension is so stiff and the floor has so little noise and vibration insulation materials that the whole car shakes.

The ACC and LKC is so poorly implemented and it's so uncomfortable to use. The headunit is garbage and doesn't even connect to my phone.

Seriously, this car is still so many generations behind a vios or city.
*
I'm not sure if you have come across this already or not, but seems like there's a DIY method to fix the rattling noise from the dashboard. Taken from Ativa Club Malaysia fb group page.

Hi, new owner here.
Kindly asking what modifications would void the warranty

Rims, Lights, Wiring, Speakers... etc.

How long did you have to wait before receiving your car?
Variant and colour?
Did you trade in?

i took H Spec Red color
nope i did not trade in, very bad deal, but in the end made it happened
SA promised 2-3 weeks to get car, ended up 4 months, complained here and there
everyone attitude is very bad, i complaint to the hotline customer service, what they told me was
"you are the one that is being ignorant to believe SA can give you car in 2-3weeks, we cannot do anything about it"
in the end i just gave up and waited to get my car
*
I guess I should be expecting 4 months also 😅

If I went with the trade in, I lose out minimum RM3k, didn't do trade in with them. Even trade in also the SA can't give me any promise.

Anyone here own both Ativa and Yaris/vios? Are they on par? Close to?
*
I don't own them, but waiting for Ativa. I did test drive Ativa and Vios though. What kind of comparison are you looking for?

One is compact SUV and one is a sedan and hatchback car.

They are both quite different, and I think it boils down to 2 things,
1) Which one fits your purpose?
2) Which one your heart tells you to drive it?

Myself, I was driving a manual Myvi which was already 16 years old, I don't want to drive a manual anymore with the increasing jam 😂

Ativa is a fun car with decent boot space and relatively new tech P2 can offer. I like to try something new. It has a fresh and modern design to it that I really like.

Vios is a car that everyone know that it's built for durability, the 2nd hand value wouldn't drop much as compared to other cars. The interior is a bit too dark to my liking, and feels dated. I can imagine myself driving Vios but will stare and admire Ativa or newer cars on the road 😂

Or if you can wait, see what's the new Vios like when it launch/reveal in Thailand next month.

Just an update after talking to SC

Service informed that the R&D dept is aware of this issue and said that the smell is coming from the heated plastic parts within the engine.
The smell will naturally go away after 10k mileage.  sweat.gif  hmm.gif
*
After 10k mileage the plastic melt finish d, that's why no more smell 😂

Got my Ativa AV after 2 months waiting. Its for my wife daily ride. And  i occasionally drive it
My initial review driving for less than 50km

Road noise very loud. Steering very light .

Future plan. Sound proof the door and floor pan. Change the speaker and maybe upgrade to conti tyre

3 months waiting here sad.gif

any of you do tinting to your car?

if yes, does the tinting overlaps with the pre-installed security tint?

or do they remove it first?

Mine just add on to the existing one.
No major issues, aside from driver side front window inside started to peel, not because of my aftermarket tint, but because of the factory tint started to peel, thus having to go back to the shop adjust.
*
Oh damn, but in this case, the shop still honor the warranty kah? I would expect the factory tint has to be removed before installing the aftermarket ones.

How much was your tint and what brand btw?

Just got my car yesterday, but it felt like the idle vibration is more apparent than when I test drive 🤔

Is there anything on the aftermarket to reduce this?

Not cold start, I was driving the whole day when I got my car, the vibration was quite apparent throughout the day. I am outstation now, will drive around more tmrw and maybe test drive at the outlet again to compare 🤔

Anyone have done some diy or customization to reduce wind sound etc?

Want to know as well 😅

Hi all, wanna ask where to buy that black cover for the Ativa boot ? To cover things inside the boot. Thanks.
*
Do u mean the boot tray or like a netting cover? If its either one of those, shopee/lazada got sell. I got both my tray and net from Perodua.

QUOTE(myteam94 @ Nov 7 2022, 01:30 PM)
for me personally, quite obvious..

once i drove above 100kmh, can start to hear the wind noise.
*
Do u install door visor? I didn't install them yet, wind noise is noticeable but not too intrusive to me. Still, I'd like to know how to get rid of it DIY method before going to soundproofing shop.

Also, anyone here change the HU that is compatible with the reverse cam, usb port and buttons on the steering wheel?
