Is this something we can DIY fix or can ask mechanic to help fix?
*
It is basically a hole where some hose goes through but the diameter is bigger and hence got gaps allowing the smell to creep into the car. The Perodua technician said nothing has been done until now. The way I look at it, it's another cost cutting measure by Perodua.

Do guys put your gear in N or D at traffic light?
Based on what I've read, D = engine mount wear; N = clutch wear. So I have to choose the lesser evil?
Enlighten me please notworthy.gif

For me the clutch plate is a wear and tear component, so over time it ned to be replaced. My old manual Myvi didn't have it's clutch plate change until I sold it at 200K km milleage as the shifting was still very smooth. If put D and apply brakes, wouldn't that create a counter force on the engine and transmission? Like the car wants to move but you are holding it back forcefully?

in modern cars, just leave it at D. the transmission is smart enough to know the car isn't moving.
cars with EPB supports this idea.

In the original post you said "D = engine mount wear; N = clutch wear". How can clutch wear in that situation?

I'm not car expert. It's something like unnecessary work for the gear because keeps on switching D-N-D-N-D...
I don't know how to word it correctly.

high pressure will cause temperature raise. so performance car got ATF radiators.
not much burden to gear box itself.

Hi fellow Ativa owners. New owner here and I have searched the forum to no avail. Would like to find out personal experience of any owner who has done the following but the SC did not find fault in voiding the warranty:
1) Installing after market infotainment along with 360 camera. Infotainment is just plug and play while 360 requires tapping

2) sound proofing car - doors, engine and floor

If strictly just checking the car warranty, any of these would like considered already void warranty for the relevant parts. There’s a clause in the warranty booklet saying if we get written permission from perodua, it will be okay but I suppose no SC will be willing to put that in B&W for that kind of guarantee.

personally

for infotainment, if plug n play, it is a must change stuff for Ativa

and i believe it is only for 3 years of warranty (basic warranty).

What does the 3 year refer to? For electronic such as the digital instrument cluster? Would it affect our usual servicing at SC?

Not affect anything with our usual servicing to SC, it just if anything relate to the HU change got issue.. can’t claim warranty je.

Eg: Reverse camera problem or speaker problem.. bit susah nak claim since got HU change

Ah I spoke to someone from SC and they say if digital cluster is affected, the warranty would be void. Sigh, looks like I can only fix the i lnfotainment but not the 360 which comes with it.

Anyway do you know if sound proofing may void warranty as well?
