i am really concern about this issue cause i am used to heavily depend on the tools microsoft office in windows provide.
worried that i cant do my assignment nicely.

Hmm..

Pre-buying checklist

(1) Check for dead pixels on the spot buying taking it home. That way you can immediately ask for another unit if you see any dead pixels.

(2) Check for fitting and alignment of case. Some MacBook aren't properly assembly, you might notice some gaps.

(3) Other defects for the newer MB won't be known so soon. Wait a couple of days and keep a watch at Apple's discussions forum.

I've seen pictures on the internet of magsafe adapters burning. A google search yields: http://www.appledefects.com/wiki/index.php?title=Magsafe.

I guess it's a good argument to spring for AppleCare.

Does not stop me from leaving all my Macs connected to power via the magsafe adapter tho. It'll keep your battery holding a charge for longer if you have fewer charge/discharge cycles.

You're welcome.

Did she have a bad experience dealing with the service center? What happened?

haha, my mum never own a apple product before.
one of her friend told her that the apple have no service centre and only the shop provide service ...and therefore is not good, she also comparing it to dell/hp service. Since now macbook is selling at rm3599 my as well i get.

I think she is rather misinformed. We do have a Mac service center here. The address...

VR Technology Sdn Bhd
Blok B Megan Avenue 2, Jln Yap Kwan Seng, 50450 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan
Phone: 03-2162 2023

If you do encounter problems, you can send it to the retail stores, and then the sick Mac is sent to the service center mentioned above. OR, you could just send it in yourself.

Good luck tongue.gif !

HEY .. I thought I posted a reply to this thread !!

@seale_navy,
Ah well, it's time to put ur selling skills into action - just try to convince her the pros of getting the Mac u want ... Also, we don't need big warehouses as service centres/areas because the system's stabil enough, unlike uhm... other brands tongue.gif
