Have been using the wrong memory gear mode all the while. (In the bios, gear mode was set to Auto by default)

Yesterday changed to gear mode 1, memory latency jumped from 70ns to 54ns.

Just found out my Kingston Value Ram 2666mhz is a Micron Rev E, further set the CL to 14, make some changes to secondary timing.

Diff in board and IMC :/ mine cant really push this much while staying stable. Plus my MSI board causes lower read than write. Googled a bunch of user posts on this z490itx unify and it looks like a consistent behavior

i use thaiphoon burner to detect what chip for my ram but it said not detected any SPD EEPROM device. it also said not supported SMBus Host controller something. i've checked all devices driver already been installed. Windows already updated also.

hmmm reset cmos and then put the exact same settings and gain a little bit more bandwidth and lower latency. This MSI board mem training is weird....

Also I think 10400F (g1 stepping with native 6 core die) has significantly much weaker IMC compared to those K series (q0 10 core die). Seems like this is the most optimized value I can get out of my board and cpu already

any news on intel's next gen HEDT processor? 10980xe is 1 year and half old now

run admin, turn off virus, reinstall, turn off xmp profiles, rerun chipset m/b all still the same. but i use other monitor software, it say samsung but not sure whether it's b or d or e die. or i could see wrongly
