The Intel stock cooler is worse than Ryzen. And the speed penalty is heavy compared to Ryzen.
Looks at the R23 AND R20 scores, it's throttling so bad if compared to Ryzen using stock cooler. At least for Ryzen, the stock cooler is still usable BUT for Intel, the stock cooler is a joke, cannot even manage decent boost for long work load. QUOTE(terradrive @ Apr 10 2021, 06:24 PM) That can simply be fixed by getting a cheap aftermarket cooler. Even then ryzen cpus also mostly needed aftermarket cooler too so the point is quite moot. I have yet to test the uhd 730.Not to mention that intel gives the option of integrated gpu and the ryzens (except APU ryzen) don't have integrated gpu. If can play esports games 1080 high at 60fps, then it’s a win for intel. |

Increased CPP to 85w and CPU managed to maintain 87c until cinebench completed.
I guess this is the max wattage for stock cooler. R23 = 9462 R20 = 3672 |

11400 UHD 730 still lost to AMD 2200g APU in 3DMark Night raid.
AMD 2200g Graphics = 12552, CPU = 5217, Total score = 10365 UHD 730 Graphics = 8161, CPU = 12003, Total score = 8572 AMD beat Intel in every corner now, considering 2200g launched in early 2018. AMD 2018 APU still wins Intel 2021 iGPU, it's ashamed to Intel. |

11400 vs 3300x in F1 2018, I m not impressed.
Maybe need to use powerful GPU to see more FPS in 11400? » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

Have been using the wrong memory gear mode all the while. (In the bios, gear mode was set to Auto by default)
Yesterday changed to gear mode 1, memory latency jumped from 70ns to 54ns. This post has been edited by piscesguy: Apr 17 2021, 08:10 AM |

Just found out my Kingston Value Ram 2666mhz is a Micron Rev E, further set the CL to 14, make some changes to secondary timing. Latest Geekbench 5 result. https://browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/7458163 I will continue to explore the sub timings... cawan liked this post

I think I m done with the RAM timings.
Latest Geekbench 5 results. https://browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/7473186 This is the most I can do with the Micron Rev E. I have another set of Kingston Value Ram that is a Hynix CJR, not sure wanna play with that set. |

Done some minor RAM timing adjustment, I hope this is the final one.

QUOTE(Bonchi @ Apr 20 2021, 01:38 PM) You can follow what piscesguy did at going gear 1:1 to get some extra latency performance. Maybe even set your command rate to 1 as most motherboard xmp will run at 2. And most importantly drop your vccsa/imcvccio voltages Well I modified my RAM from 2666mhz 20-22-22-52-540-CR2 to 3200mhz 14-18-18-32-480-CR1, what a journey. Skylinestar liked this post

QUOTE(terradrive @ Apr 21 2021, 03:54 PM) is that the highest after power unlock? iinm it can go like 130-150watts right, or 115w is what it uses. cinebench is using avx load too right? I set the power limit to 125w, but in the case of running CB R20, it never exceed 115w. All cores at 4.2GHz all the time.I think the score is as expected.. |

QUOTE(terradrive @ Apr 21 2021, 04:03 PM) wow 115w is very easy to cool even with cheap aftermarket coolers. I run CB R23, also same it uses around 115w to complete it, yeah I use a cheap after market cooler. oh i just remembered my cinebench r15 uses 15% less power compared when i'm running blender render with 64x64 tile size CORES=6 THREADS=12 MHZ=2600.000000 MHZ_ESTIMATE=inf PROCESSOR=11th Gen Intel Core i5-11400 CBTYPE=64 Bit OSVERSION=Windows 10, 64 Bit, Professional Edition (build 19042) CBCPU1=0.000000 CBCPU1PEAK=0.000000 CBCPUXPEAK=10296.879987 CBCPU1ARRAY={} CBCPUXARRAY={} C4DINFO= C4DVERSION=23.200 C4DBUILDID=RBBenchmark330542 |
