I did not meet face to face with this agent. Recommended by my sister. I signed within 1 week. This is the wrong move I made. Hasty and desperate at that time. Now when it comes after service during pandemic he is very rude.

if you really don't like him/her, and if the thought of him/her keeps getting commission for the next few years makes you boils and if the about 80% amount you had paid is easily "write off",....can try to cancel the policy....
but i think i heard, there is a "waiting" period if you want to buy from another agent of that same company so that, that "BAD" agent will not get anymore.

hi kawa_e, if it is still within the 15 days cooling-off period (15 days from the day you received the policy contract either digitally or physically), you can still request for full-refund and cancel the policy with the insurance policy. of course this is really up to your decision (not my suggestion). of course if you can find an Allianz agent that is good and you trust, then i believe the agent wont mind to take over the policy and service you. I believe there are agents here willing to help you too. anyone you feel comfortable with you can just direct message. hope we can help you. wink.gif

My salary is being deducted half now due to lockdown. So the premium is taking a chunk out of my salary per month (B40 lowest tier)
Cutting off the policy of 1 year half might help ? I don't know. I don't like that agent. I know there is no deferment in paying premium now.

To answer lifebalance, I was only asking but his response was no choice etc etc, if I go to hospital who will pay those sort of thing and asked me to stop talking about my job with what I paid for insurance.

Well yeah, maybe I am the hot headed here.

not to say you are hot headed, maybe his answer cause you to react like that. so don't blame yourself here. there is a few things you can do when your salary is cut. perhaps let us know

1. when is your policy bought (exact date)?
2. how much are you paying now (monthly/yearly etc.)?
3. can you list down your benefits?
4. any liabilities do you have now?
5. your age?

perhaps we can start off here so a few can guide and give you an idea what you can do (at least get a clear picture first before dealing with the agent because i think most importantly there is people to guide you to solve your prob first).

Thnx Ck, unfortunately I can only PM. Providing info here is too risky. I don't know if the agent is here. Whenever problem arises, he would only talk to my sister not me.

Well I don’t know your background personally so I won’t be able to see the full picture. From the look of it you are frustrated over your agent’s lack of concern and you’re not happy about it.

And right now you’re telling me a different concern which your policy is taking a chunk out of your daily expenses.

Perhaps you might want to review your policy and your personal finances in view with the change of income?

Assuming it is medical plan.

Usually come along with some riders. Certain amount of life sum assured . Hospital benefits or critical illness.
If yes, should be able to request adjust.

You may call direct to service center and find out as well. They will verify you before answering questions.

That depends on what you have in your existing policy.

If the benefit is already the bare minimum where you can’t really alter anything further, then probably you’re not suitable to maintain an investment linked policy and need to opt for a term insurance instead.

That being said, again I don’t know any details about your policy to comment so I’ll refrain from making any further comment until more details is shared.

many had mentioned govt hospitals if and when that happens to that scenario with that income

sometimes when in certain tight condition with not much solution in sight,...it is good to plan and know what is a MUST have and GOOD to have and have the WISDOM to know the different and separate them to suits one's capability.

That is quite comprehensive already.

You've a waiver of premium included within the policy which will take care of the policy premium if you're down with CI/TPD

Hospitalization is already covered by the Medisafe Infinite.

I hope I can contribute more down the road.
I have seen so many young and old people could not afford treatments after struck with disease. That is a horrible situation to face

What is ci/tpd?

When such situation arises, is because they cannot afford the premium. Is payment till death or the term expires whichever comes first.

Many older policies cannot cover medical costs due to small annual limit and as time passes, medical cost increases and they still have to seek treatment from govt hosp. Lower annual limit comes with lower premium.

Many failed or forgot to review the coverage or simply cannot afford additional premium. The 'unlucky' ones may have to surrender or lapse the policy when income is affected like the now pandemic.

So buying enough coverage today and tomorrow is a tough call for those who wants protection with low premium.

Anyway ...

CI is critical illness
TPD is total permanent disability

CI - Critical Illness
TPD - Total Permanent Disability

That being said, it's good to have awareness on how transfer your risk to a 3rd party if you do face such situation.

Medical treatment is costly and scary place to be in if you were in that situation. I know my place financially so I think I'm doing the right thing. But finding a good agent is not as easy as I thought. Nevertheless, what's done is done. Will not make the same mistake again.
