SIFU's !!

Seeking your guide on taking a new medical insurance plan. Standalone Plan.

Been employed abroad, with global insurance coverage to sum 1.5Million USD.

But i would like to take up a local medical plan for personal use when i probably retire and come back to KL.

Thus the card largely be not used at all for the next 10 years maybe or more.

So ideally a high deductible medical card?

Seeking your advice!

Since you'll not be back here for the next 10 years and wish to maintain a card once you retire. High deductible will be advisable.

Yes it can be done.

Perhaps a high deductible throughout, and reduces to RM500 upon hitting age 60?

Sifu,

I currently have AIA A-Plus Health WITH 1.5MIL annual medical coverage. Recently I had received and upgrade offer to A-Plus Health 2 Medical Upgrade.

Can I have expert opinion if I should take up this upgrade offer.

Thank you

The upgrade coverage would be 10 Mil with monthly premium increase of RM 97. Would we need such a high amount of coverage? Is the cost of medical currently is such high? Please advise?

The higher annual limit is more to sustain the next 30 years incremental cost in medical fees.

I understand. Another question related to this, until which age would this cover and what would be the rate of cover after the age?

In the Great Eastern Portal for my Insurance policy (GREAT WEALTH PREMIER)
it has 3 figures namely:-
Net Surrender Value
Survival Benefits Balance
Cash Bonus Value

If we close the account today, we would get the figure in "Net Surrender Value" ?

Does "Net Surrender Value" already included "Survival Benefits Balance" & "Cash Bonus Value" ?

Short answer: taking is somewhat beneficial. Even without the 10mil coverage you still get other benefits as well.

Long answer: your plan is going through medical revision, you will need to pay more premium when the anniversary hit anyway. You probably dont realise or havent receive the notification letter because havent hit anniversary yet.

Follow your current coverage. If currently until age 80, it will be until age 80 also. Just assume things remain the same except you got upgraded to newer version with more "bells and whistle".

Meaning this upgrade is offered for plans which would go through revision? Does it mean that such upgrade offers would be given every time the policy is scheduled to go through revision??

Well noted on the coverage age.

As for the life policy, no I don't plan to surrender what I have now. I'm just looking for standalone life policies which can grant for bigger sum. My current life policy which is linked only provides 50k sum for death.

Hi,

need some advice for my friend. He bought a property for investment via agent and agent's mortgage advisor friend who works for Hong Leong Assurance and the mortgage advisor help my friend apply for bank loan all.

The property price is 700k. And the mortgage advisor manage to get 90% loan from Maybank at 3.9% interest with MRTA waiver. But now the advisor is pushing Hong Leong Assurance's MLTA plan (HLA Asset Master I think) at RM3k premium annually to my friend. Question is if my friend is looking for a MLTA plan, is there other better choice?

oh ya, 50k is really not enough if you have dependents.

i think life policies are too many for you to choose from. if you are very active within AIA vitality eco system might worth looking into AIA products.

A-Life Wealth Venture gives money every year if you hit gold/platinum. kinda value for money. but it starts at 2million... if you are young enough, might not be too expensive.

but if not, there will be too many to choose from be it via online or via an agent. just go for simplest, death/disability pay RMxxx enough.

Just wondering if no dependant does life insurance still serve any purpose?
