After my mum's Prudential ILP, now my turn to receive the same news

4.5% increase bangwall.gif ranting.gif

If I wanted to convert to deductible to lower the premium. Do I have to declare if I have any pre-existing medical condition again?

Example, say I bought this in 2007 and I have appendix removal operation in 2011?

Alternatively you may pay using FPX/ Debit Card or CC/Boost/T&G using the online Customer portal

PruAccess Plus
or
Prudential E-Payment

I am aware of these options

I received letter from the insurance company to increase the premium for my Medical card. Any issue if I just ignore it?
*
Which company you are referring to?

If it is from Prudential, the letter is simply a notification

So even if you ignore it the increase will still take effect as stated

For CI under Prudential Crisis Shield let's say the Benefit Purchased showed in PruAccess Plus is showing MYR20k

Meaning the payout is max at total of RM20k shall the claim is approved?

Yeap.
*
How about let's say the insured is aware of the CI condition since few years ago and only submit the claim now, meaning never inform the insurance company before

Can the insurance company use this as a reason to reject the claim?

Yeap, this falls under non-disclosure. Insurance company can reject + void your policy contract.
*
Non-disclosure before inception of policy I understand

Even like if policy was purchased in 2000 and CI came after 2010 also consider non-disclosure?

Actually I read or saw somewhere, can't remember is it an anvert or sharing that someone managed to claim CI more than 100% of the plan

Is there something like that? A special plan, or becuase he has more than one CI condition?

Yes, where the CI plan provides comprehensive coverage for multiple stages (Early/ Intermediate/ Advance) of a critical illness  &  that covers multi category of critical illness  (eg. Cancer/Stroke)  you can claim under each stage or category. So, in short, its possible to be more than 100% of sum assured.

Sounds very similar to what I've read

one more thing that I found out

claiming CI will reduce life balance

eg. life RM200 and CI RM100

after claim CI RM100 life reduced to RM100

well, another thing agent never tell but not sure is this applicable for all policies

Not applicable to all. There are many versions of ci but broadly there is 2 type, the kind where the life will reduce (technical jargon is "accelerated"), another kind where it wont reduce, ie it is additional coverage on top of the life coverage.

Kinda obvious which one will cost more. biggrin.gif

putting it up here is also good to alert people who wanna shop for policy that there are such difference

thanks for your info

Just a general one

Let's say I bought one ILP policy with life, CI and medical since 2005

Along the way, I went to see doctors and diagnosed for new illness

For example

1. 2010 blood test shows high cholestrol
2. 2011 high bp
3. 2012 acute rhinitis
3. 2015 started following up with phychiatrist

etc. but all started few years after the policy was bought

In this case, do I need to inform the insurance company about these new illness

Not unless you wish to upgrade your benefits.
*
Noted thumbsup.gif

Meaning existing insurance has to cover as long as illness is diagnosed after inception (plus x period of 'cooling' off or I don't what is that called that for eg. you can't claim within 2 years you bought the insurance)

And IINM my medical card claim I will always need to bear 10% of the total, this feature is called co-insurance, right? And the benefit of having this is lower premium? Like if I want to change to 100% bear by insurance then my premium will go up
