QUOTE(MUM @ Oct 3 2023, 04:10 PM) Just got this from my neighbour... He told me he only made 1 time payment of premium for 3-4 years value....( cannot remember) Then he stopped paying it. The agent says since the insurance charges is low, ...the ilp can sustain it for many years... Now after 10 years, ...he had to either top up all the past premium outstanding or annual premium for reinstatement... The agent said, better cancel since the current insurance charges is very high Why did he stop payment ? Agent smart to ask the fella to pay 4 years upfront because that's where his commissions are

QUOTE(MUM @ Oct 3 2023, 04:50 PM) Pay 1x big amount auto run, no need to pay since insurance charges very low..... Yes, I think the agent is clever... Just no idea if the agent can get commission from that 30k+ one shot or have to get partially over a few years too maybe one shot... as the payment is made until his yearly commission range lo. Or else agent wont ask. evil agent

QUOTE(lifebalance @ Oct 24 2023, 09:34 AM) Not necessary only the above, more ppl is claiming everything under insurance whether it is necessary or unnecessary. As you can witness "discussion" on this thread that some would resort to unethical measure to file claims with insurance company. Why you think insurance cost won't go up? Sick a little, pain a little. "I want to be hospitalized, I don't care, I paid for insurance, so I must claim from insurance" attitude is what is hiking the insurance cost. if things can be remedied with Panadol / more sleep / right diet / less alcohol / less drugs / more exercise. Why trouble yourself to stay in the hospital. additionally Hospital charges more if you use medical card vs cash paying customer

In the Great Eastern Portal for my Insurance policy (GREAT WEALTH PREMIER) it has 3 figures namely:- Net Surrender Value Survival Benefits Balance Cash Bonus Value
If we close the account today, we would get the figure in "Net Surrender Value" ?
Does "Net Surrender Value" already included "Survival Benefits Balance" & "Cash Bonus Value" ?

Heard that starting 1 Sep we can get opt for lower premium on Medical card but subject to co-payment when seeking medical services.
Is this good or bad ?

If we pay medical services using Insurance.... it's higher than Cash payment... having co-payment actually make things worse for the Rakyat.
the cost of medical services can only go up....

Another year, Prudential sends a new Medical Revision Notification increase by another RM102 per month
Option: Increase Co-Pay from RM300 to RM1000 to maintain the same old premium.
Is the "downgrade" option worth taking ?

QUOTE(adele123 @ Sep 22 2024, 08:41 PM) i strongly encourage taking up higher deductible where possible. especially when RM1,000 is probably something you can afford. the plan with 300 deductible will only get more and more expensive. Can you explain what you mean by taking up higher deductible ? QUOTE(Wedchar2912 @ Sep 22 2024, 09:12 PM) just wondering... are you working and hence being covered by another insurance policy... like by your firm's policy? If yes, more reason to opt for co-pay increase... as 1K rm is really nothing in say 10 to 20 years time. Yes, covered by current employer's group insurance....

QUOTE(p0wer2003 @ Oct 19 2024, 12:51 PM) That's a good explanation. Guess I have no choice but to retain as 300 med save. Pay more RM10 x 12 = RM120.... to avoid paying RM1000 up front
