You all got feed supplement for your cats? Can recommend anything good? My cat generally have soft full fur, but her nose is always dirty that requires daily wipes. |

I just saved a little kitten in my house compound.
His mother abandoned him, so I brought him into home and setup a corner for him to stay, using cardboard and boxes to surround. He has been with me for 2-3 weeks. The problem is now I put litterbox, he doesn't want to use. He still pass on top of cardbox like usual. I've already caught him and put in litterbox, but no point. How to train kittens to use litterbox? |

When successful, give a treat. andyjyneo liked this post

How to train kittens to use litterbox? After meal, normally a kitten will poo. You have to wait and if it seems that it's time to poo, take him to the litter box. Keep doing it until he can't hold it and poo in the litter box. No screaming / panicky sound. Make it as soothing as possible. Normally after a few try, it will know where to poo. andyjyneo liked this post

One more thing, do experiment with different kind of litter box material. Crystals, tofu, pine, etc. Your cat will prefer one more than the other. andyjyneo liked this post

The litter i bought is from RM2.40 shop. The litterbox is also from the same shop, which is used to plant plants, i think. Something like a paper dispenser used on office table. It has a low front entrance, which is easy for kitten to enter and exit. Another thing, do you people separate kittens/cats by gender? I'm afraid that if i saved more kittens and they're not spayed, on no time my house will have more kittens than humans. I actually don't intend to spay them for the time being. QUOTE(andyjyneo @ Jun 22 2023, 07:40 AM) Nope. Congrats! The best litter I used so far is Cindy & Friends Tofu Litter, almost no smell and clumps very well (better than those Rm27-28 a pack). Cat will reach sexual maturity by 6 months, best to spay/neuter - also to avoid marking and straying outside issues. I believe Selangor gomen have subsidy for cat spaying that cost less than RM100. Remember to get your cat vaccinated ya. andyjyneo liked this post

Vaccine: 3 months (and min 3kg weight according to my vet)I really love those cute kittens. Thank you but too bad I'm not from Selangor. At what age can a kitten get vaccinated and deworm as well as deflea? Deflea: Can deflea immediately but mind the dosage according to kitty weight. My vet just advise me to spray Frontline on my kitty back when she was 3 months old and malnourished (just adopted her, her previous owner said she's 3 mth but vet said she looks like 2 mths so....) |

I think my kitten is malnourished also. 2 months plus and still very small. When i carry him, can feel he's skinny and his bones. |

QUOTE(andyjyneo @ Jun 22 2023, 10:04 PM) Maybe very thin also. Happed to my cats too. Ever since i gave treats to my kitten, he doesn't seem interested in dry kibbles anymore. Got spoilt by me already. Haha Kibbles time - meh... just an after thought snacking at night only. Wet food in 400gm can - all 4 of them running to their food bowl in no time. One thing, cat is a very puntual creature. Especialy with meal time. Do set a routine meal time. They will come running when the time come. As for us, 5pm is for wet food and 7am for kibbles. Daily routine. |
