owh.. seems that papercone practically useful for warmer sound..
no wonder la there are people saying "the warmth of paper, and the clear punchy attack of aluminum".. huhu

*and hartke also produce a combination of both for the hyDrive variation.. CK just announce at their website(main page) for availability(& can order kot cool2.gif ).. huhu

foogie:
usd300, slight surcharge for getting it in black. plus that was a few years back.. exchange rate wasn't what it is today. very ouch...
(eh, the exchange rate is in your favour now.. go grab a new one.)

am contemplating taking out the j-retro and switching the bass back to passive. easier to move that way, plus i get to keep the j-retro. damn sayang la.

see how la.. watch this space.

was wondering where this thread went.

anyways, how many bassists at LYN use distortion frequently?
and how many of you (like me) think the Effects companies should put more effort into bass pedals. Make them sound like distortion, not shytfuzz.

tube mahal la bang.....

I'm looking for distortions that can give me a good, precise tone but it still has that nasty crunch.

As far as i know, only boss has them....and the ODB-3 sounds like shytfuzz.

the easiest way of knowing what to get is to check out the gear of artists with the tone you want.

The general rule is, sound and price are proportionally related. The better the sound, the higher the price.

But all this coming from an anti-pedal person; so you might just want to ignore me on this tongue.gif

you're looking for bass distortion/overdrive?

Gallien Krueger DieselDawg - pure evil distortion

EBS ValveDrive & MultiDrive - tasty OD and distortion. ValveDrive is tube and I have one.

MXR DI80 - a DI box and distortion, quite useable.

Fulltone - rated pretty highly.

Boss, Behringer distortion for teenage girls on helium ... smile.gif

hmmmm, any sound samples for them?
I'm living off my ODB-3 sampling on my Zoom and I'm trying hard not to commit suicide from the fact it sounds so.......bad... when i turn the gain up.

I almost bought a MT-2 for my bass. doh.gif

^ just plug out the battery and its gone, well i personally think that led is cool..something new and yea, the glossy black is really nice. one thing i concern is since the body weight is light, wont be the neck heavier than the body and out of balance.
