Buy: Sorry, no such luck, no Ric dealer here and extremely rare that one turns up for sale at all. In the past five years, I've known of only one Ric bass that was put up for sale.

Find: Well, you can always visit HOB to check out what a Ric bass feels and looks like. I've got a 4003 and a 4001, both different sort of beasts ...

If you order new through Ric Asia, via Japan, that is, or through any US dealers willing to ship here (again, a rarity), the waiting list is 12-24 months. Actually, I am on the waiting list for another 4003 too ... blush.gif

1-2 Years shocking.gif

Anyway do you have the full address for HOB?

I can't slap either. My double thumbing has nothing to do with slapping. It's all about cheating  tongue.gif

Then where the tone come from? Effect pedals? tongue.gif

No i just pluck instead of slap. Pluck with the thumb, if that makes any sense. And the upward stroke is the same only with a little less force so the strings don't slap back on the frets to get that percussive tone.
*
I gotta try this out biggrin.gif

EDB 550
saw it in bentley
looks very woody nice

but dun like bass wit smal bodies....
smtn beefier and have sum weight feels more secure
keke

crazy huh haha
a 5 string warwick thumb is 5.1kg
a gibson les paul custom can reach 5kg
the weight contributes to the tone?
*
Cheh.. My Jackson bass also got that weight la laugh.gif

With hard casing its 10kg. sweat.gif

Well, I stand still at home due to the limited space.
But moving in a imaginary "boundary" on stage. sweat.gif
