this is the shit happen when they saying only guarantee local connection quality to protect themselves. Are they expecting 90% speed use on local? and what do local have to do with this speed if those content are hosted in overseas?

unlike other country there are specific terms that they are covering at least 50% international speed on your subscribing package.

I think in my memory, TM only guarantee 80% of local national speed only.

Actually if you really have patience to play around with tm and mcmc.
The problem will be fix and smooth for longer time.
Because few days ago,i search for the similar problem that happens last year about high latency spikes and packet loss to OVH Singapore.
That guy that keep report every 2-3 days to tm and mcmc, finally get contact with tm higher level person and the problem become smaller. (but need patience bcs need few months time to waste with them)

But of course the problem came back again every night at 9.30-10.30pm for about 5-20min every night.
But I am satisfied for only have short time problem... Better than 2 years ago that time the happens time is very randomly and more serious than now.

And also u can also report to Amazon Web Services. I don't have service on aws,so cant report..haha
The reason why i suggest to report AWS, is because they are the server provider, they can contact TM to solve the problem easily than us.
They can contact the traffic IX to reduce the problem.

Too many service that hosted on AWS is using US East location,so this is really a big big problem.

Just monitor the AWS EAST server for a while.
The Best time to access AWS East Server is from 2.10AM until about 8AM.

Yes , thats why i want to terminate my unifi ASAP , they have terrible transit even to China Unicom , KUL -> US -> CN , seriously? And because now unifi to US blow up , China Unicom also kena , why? Because unifi route it to US first and now unifi to US is boom at night.
TIME just came in my apartment and i still have 7 month contract left. Thats why im asking for who interested on unifi ownership transfer.

Nowadays unifi uses Remaining Month x Plan price to kira penalty one oh. The most cheap 30Mbps plan also cost you a penalty on 1.7K for 20 month contract left.
Btw , unifi mention if u relocate to an address which is no unifi fibre , they will waive the penalty for u if u terminate like this. So i wondering can i relocate to those no fibre addresses and request for a termination and waive the penalty

Update : China Telecom also experiencing same problem
KUL - HK Vodafone - US Vodafone - CT CN

TIME to China Unicom is using Singtel route straight away from SG to Guangzhou thats why can reach ping below 100ms and not like TM route to US dulu

Looking for help where is the shortfall in my Unifi speed (everything on cable).....all advice gratefully appreciated.... icon_idea.gif
Current subscription : 800mbps Unifi
Existing speed : 250mbps download / 150 mbps upload

Existing equipment : Router (DIR 850L) - provided by TM cool2.gif
Modem : Echolife HG8240H (Apr 2018)

Cat 6 cable connects from Router to 8-Port Gigabit Desktop Switch (TL-SG 1008D)

Cat 6 connects Switch to PC.

could it be equipment degradation ? pls advice where i should check.... icon_question.gif

DIR-850L should no problem for handling 800Mbps speed since its Gigabyte port
try changing LAN cable to a better CAT 6 and try again

the router supplied by tm DIR 850L ethernet ports sometimes tend to auto switch from gigabit to 100mbps. donno why got this problem. a manual restart of the router when this happened will reset the ethernet port back to gigabit speed.

upgrade your existing router is recommended . since the DIR 850L not so stable if you intend to heavy use the internet.

So i tot the packet loss only happen during night
to AWS US
Significantly ping spike up and unstable ping with high ping and some packet loss

and i found that hop 7 EQUINIX having the most high packet loss among so many hops

Singtel fiber ownself customer also doesn't enjoy low ping to china but only selected china region. I tried before

dont forget china bandwidth are expensive in the world laugh.gif laugh.gif

That is Equinix Ashburn IX which Amazon have 2x200Gbps capacity

But TM only have Equinix Ashburn IX 1x10Gbps capacity to there is impossible to cope the demand becos the supply are quite low as you can see.

end of the day still TM problem!

last time i tested to CU i get below 100ms
Douyin CN CDN server
which TM can get 300ms+
and also BaiduYun server with CU
Time also can reach within 100ms (approx 90ms+ lah)
but baiduyun speed seems capped to TIME customer , not sure what problem , download stuck at 2-3mb/s (approx 20-30mbps)
TM ping is higher but can reach almost full speed lah
for baiduyun download i use https://pan.kdbaidu.com

Why your douyin is connected to CN server?
I just capture 2 days ago- all video content is connected to singapore alibabacloud cdn.

as for douyin try not to use ISP dns becos normally it will redirect some content direct back to china cdn.
