Are we even looking at the same video?
Jay wasn't using any non-retail firmware, he showed that the versions in his testing was not engineering or prerelease versions for the ssd and motherboard. MSI quietly pulled their bios without giving a reason.

thats what i said. so what is it u think i said was wrong?
basically he was moaning he had the ssd + win update issue, when he never did. since it was a msi bios issue. My point here was, he was muddying the water and after all that headlines "worse than we thought", it wasn't even related to the so called windows update causing some ssd to fail.
hope that's clear enough?

The reason is clear, a windows update caused the problem.
proof? i'm not agreeing or disagreeing. im just genuine asking what proof u have to say this? i personally dont know.
I did have my own pc up and die (bsod and couldnt boot up) which only got solved by format and reinstall windows, but i cannot say 100% it was related to this. there are many reasons why it would not boot, like malware or whatever other reason. all i know was, after the reformat and reinstall windows, i no longer had boot issues.

Windows 10/11 updates are way more buggy compared to the past.
this i agree. but at the end of the day i still have to use an os. i did try going linux desktop os, but there were somethings i still needed on windows. so unfortunately i could not kick windows to the curb just yet. but i did however debloat as much as i could to regain performance and reduce the privacy issues as much as possible. If u were still getting by win10, well they r no longer going to maintain it for security patches and bugs, so no choice but go win11 or go linux.

Microsoft doesn't care and doesn't want to own up to the problem. And the hardware manufacturers are going along with it.
i agree. but we still need proof to backup our claims. otherwise it's just mere hearsay and fear mongering. My point in regard to jay, he was doing just that, fear mongering without proof for the windows 11 update + ssd.
So his conclusion in the end was, there is no smoke without a fire analogy.
For my ownself since i dont seem to be affected, i've already moved on.
My only issue right now is with this new motherboard i bought, a MSI X870 MAG tomahawk wifi. I experience weird issues with the 5gbe and the wifi 7 on the mothherboard. the 5gbe has I/o error, and the wifi7 driver has issues waking up from sleep and causes BSOD crashes 90% of the time if you sleep the pc. For this issue i might have fixed it by attempting to do a clean reinstall for the network and wifi drivers. I checked event viewer and no issues yet. Still testing.
