hi, for C716, which Android 11 version is recommended to update with ?

V674 or V677 via OTA to V701?

Updated to V701 from V677. Managed to get Atmos at first on Netflix. But next day, gone again.

I have the same issue when I moved from V701 to V674… V674 able to resolve an issue I faced.

However…

I am able to install app but not sure about updating app (not sure all apps are up-to-date or not able to update app). This might be big issue as you can’t update to latest app.

Are you able to update any app now?

Edit:

System update is not working properly, when I perform system update it take a long time to perform and give message like “no network connection detected, please check your network.” (Obviously, internet connection is not the issue here). This issue might be due to Play Protection not certified. Not really big deal as we still can manually system update.

No problem playing Netflix or other streaming app up to 4K Dolby Vision. Play Protect certified issues only for app security for Google not related to DRM.

I suggest you flash V674 and remain V674 as Netflix has Atmos and has no audio sync issues.

Latest official TCL firmware is V702. Someone from Europe mentioned he get V702 when TV is purchased.

Hope can get the V702 firmware.

Apps able to auto update as I set to auto update.

Yes, the system update has some issue. Take too long and gave out error. Like you said that's not to concern as we can update the TV ourself.

I am facing Bluetooth remote connectivity problem. After TV wake up, remote Bluetooth is not connecting automatically. I always need to pair back if this happen.

Owner of C716 and P715 here.
Both updated to V701.
No problem with the Bluetooth remote control


For update to others.
Previously my laptop screen will flickering from time to time when connected to the TV when TV is being off.
This has been solved in V701, not sure about V677 as I didnt test it.

Flashed v677 img & ota updated v701.. so far no problem.. Netflix got Atmos & Vision.ARC also work well.My Denon X4500H avr detect Atmos as well.

The only downside is UI is a bit lagging..

Hi stasio, I has been waiting for the new launch of tcl tvs. After nearly 7 months c725 launched here unfortunately no 75" and also no c825 in Malaysia. Really looking forward to get tcl but looking at 75" only. Do you have any news whether the would be bringing it in to Malaysia or I'd have to look for another brand? If so any recommendations for good value quantum dot with/without mini LED. I tried contacting tcl Malaysia on fb but no response since December last year lol.

Just bought C725 but have a few settings problem:

1. can't seem to enable Gboard. How to enable Gboard?

2. Only T-IME and virtual remote keyboard can be enabled. How to use virtual remote keyboard? I don't think we can download Google TV apps yet in MY but I could be wrong

3. I have an old Sony soundbar. Sound didn't seem to pass through to the eARC HDMI port to the soundcard. Only sound from tv speaker

4. Google TV seems to be a bit laggy. Having v418 which I updated via OTA after setting up the new TV

Disable unused apps, clear cache by safety guard or system optimise and in storage once a day.
I disable Quick start, so my TV boot every time with clean boot.

Not sure when you encountered lagging?

My C725 navigation around is snappy… Only during boot up when entering Home screen that’s some lagging. This probably due fetching your home screen contents.

1. Gboard is system apps. If you look at the attached images, Gboard is installed by default but i cant seem to scroll to Gboard to enable it. I can only scroll up and down on Available Virtual Keyboard page for T-IME and Virtual Keyboard. Because i cant enable Gboard, i think it only shows T-IME as the only Current Keyboard option.

Besides, I cant seem to find Simplified Chinese in the language setting of T-IME keyboard. How else then can we type in Simplified Chinese?





2. Just search for Google TV and install the apps. After you install the apps, you will see TV Remote floating icon. Click on this icon then you can click on the touch pad and type. Of course, you need to enable Virtual Keyboard in the Keyboard settings.

Btw, clicking Virtual Keyboard button on remote in any of the input field (such as Search field) doesnt seems prompt out any virtual/soft keyboard.




3. To enable sound pass through, need to go to Settings > Channels and Inputs > Inputs > Consumer Electronic Control (CEC) and turn on HDMI Control.

4. Seems only certain system apps can be disabled. So far only disable Google Play Games and Google Play Movies. Also disabled Quick Start as suggested by you. Will monitor the situation on lagging.

I'm on V418. V427 and V435 are IMG updates which i think will remove all system data if i remember what you mentioned previously correctly?

We are only getting C725 old last year model…. Sad! China already shipping C735…

You need to disable T-IME keyboard for Gboard to be automatically enable. That's what I did on my C716 V674 firmware, Android 11.
