Isn't the brightness of C725 a bit too low at 270 CD/m2?

QUOTE(stasio @ Feb 2 2022, 12:42 PM)
Seemse C725 will be with Google TV, out of box....

Even with 330, is it considered low compared to other brands of LED?

QUOTE(stasio @ Feb 2 2022, 09:01 PM)
According to spec...only 50" (different TV panel type), the rest is 330.

I know this is TCL thread, but objectively which model of a better value, C725 or X80J since lettuce range almost similar?

QUOTE(stasio @ Feb 3 2022, 05:16 PM)
C725 is TCL mid-range model (QLED) , so something let say comparable with Sony LED X80J (X80J has slightly higher).
Even price is similar on lazada or shopee....

Looking at buying C725 QLED TV but have a few questions:

1. What is the best online shop to buy from at this moment?
2. What is the width between the stand for 50 and 55 inch?
3. What is the height of the stand for 50 and 55 inch?
4. Any Raya promotion for TCL or other TV brands?

The reason for asking height and width of the TV stand is because I have the sound bar now in front of the TV. Hopefully the height of TV stand is higher than the height of the soundbar

Which shop do you buy from with extended warranty? Can share the link of the shop?

QUOTE(neuromancerx @ Mar 11 2022, 01:16 PM)
Yes, shopee. Also slightly cheaper in lazada, but i opted for 1 year extended warranty in shopee (fulfilled by AIA).

Kronoshop is selling crazy price in LZD and Shopee nowadays for C725 (27xx for 50" and 34xx for 55")

QUOTE(Packer @ Apr 12 2022, 12:08 PM)
I bought the 50 C725 for RM2,106 during Laz Birthday sales with RM230 bonus redeemed from the Pahang seller. This included shipping fee which is FOC… Most seller charged between RM30 to RM60 for shipping… This probably the best price I seen so far for C725…

If you want cheaper price can consider C716 which was launched in 2020 Oct… kindly take note that C725 is not a replacement for C716, as C716 is being sold alongside C725.

Since 50" C725 is only having 270 nits, do you feel the screen is not bright when you view HDR movies/dramas? Any difference in terms of brightness if we vote normal SDR movies?

It's specified in TCL web site: https://www.tcl.com/my/en/tvs/c725 , select 50 and go to Specifications.

Anyone else using 50" C725 on living hall? Wanted to hear real life experience with 50" C725 in terms of brightness

QUOTE(Packer @ Apr 12 2022, 10:10 PM)
I don’t know where you get this 270 nits… I put the TV in my room where I seldom open the windows… The TV is very bright for me regardless of SDR or HDR…

In term of color accuracy I still prefer C716… The remote control C725 is better (new design)…

Just bought C725 but have a few settings problem:

1. can't seem to enable Gboard. How to enable Gboard?

2. Only T-IME and virtual remote keyboard can be enabled. How to use virtual remote keyboard? I don't think we can download Google TV apps yet in MY but I could be wrong

3. I have an old Sony soundbar. Sound didn't seem to pass through to the eARC HDMI port to the soundcard. Only sound from tv speaker

4. Google TV seems to be a bit laggy. Having v418 which I updated via OTA after setting up the new TV

1. Gboard is system apps. If you look at the attached images, Gboard is installed by default but i cant seem to scroll to Gboard to enable it. I can only scroll up and down on Available Virtual Keyboard page for T-IME and Virtual Keyboard. Because i cant enable Gboard, i think it only shows T-IME as the only Current Keyboard option.

Besides, I cant seem to find Simplified Chinese in the language setting of T-IME keyboard. How else then can we type in Simplified Chinese?

2. Just search for Google TV and install the apps. After you install the apps, you will see TV Remote floating icon. Click on this icon then you can click on the touch pad and type. Of course, you need to enable Virtual Keyboard in the Keyboard settings.

Btw, clicking Virtual Keyboard button on remote in any of the input field (such as Search field) doesnt seems prompt out any virtual/soft keyboard.

3. To enable sound pass through, need to go to Settings > Channels and Inputs > Inputs > Consumer Electronic Control (CEC) and turn on HDMI Control.

4. Seems only certain system apps can be disabled. So far only disable Google Play Games and Google Play Movies. Also disabled Quick Start as suggested by you. Will monitor the situation on lagging.

I'm on V418. V427 and V435 are IMG updates which i think will remove all system data if i remember what you mentioned previously correctly?

QUOTE(stasio @ Apr 20 2022, 11:04 AM)
1. Device preference...Keyboard...Current Keyboard >> choose Gboard
Be sure Gboard app is installed.

2. Virtual keyboaard ..read your Manual
Which Google TV apps you mean?
This:
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/go...589142-release/

3.I have no soundbar, but be sure which HDMI is with eARC
Maybe other users with soundbar can comment on this.

4.You can do ResetAll and Reset shop and
disable unused apps, clear cache by safety guard or system optimise and in storage once a day.
I disable Quick start, so TV boot every time with clean boot.
Did you try V427 or latest V435 firmware ?

Edit :
Virtual keyboard...

I disabled T-IME keyboard but Gboard is not auto enabled and i cant scroll to Gboard and enable it. In fact, once T-IME is disabled there's no Current Keyboard.

You need to disable T-IME keyboard for Gboard to be automatically enable. That's what I did on my C716 V674 firmware, Android 11.

Can you check whether your T-IME keyboard can add simplified Chinese language into the keyboard as well?

Thanks

Thanks for the solution. Will explore this. Now I'm using Google TV apps's TV Remote to solve this problem

QUOTE(Packer @ Apr 20 2022, 07:37 PM)
Can just use MagiConnect to enter Chinese into your TV using your mobile phone or iPad. Just install MagiConnect to your mobile or iPad.

Yes I know how to switch keyboard and languages but T-IME doesn't support Simplified Chinese and my TV cannot turn on Gboard. Not sure why and don't know how to resolve.

Anyway, I've dropped TCL MY an email on this issue. Let's see whether they get back to me. Besides, there's other alternative ways to doing Simplified Chinese inputs as highlighted above

this is the path on Google TV for C725 that i tried:

Settings > Picture > Advanced settings > Brightness settings > Contrast

Type 6425 using MagiConnect virtual keyboard but nothing happened.

QUOTE(stasio @ Apr 21 2022, 03:04 PM)
Just stay on Contrast menu (nothing with slider) and type 6425.
Use virtual keyboard on remote control, as I posted in previous page.

Clicking on Virtual Keyboard button on remote doesnt prompt any virtual keyboard on screen. Not sure why. I tried with other virtual keyboard and it works.

For C725 TV, did you enable Virtual Remote Keyboard in Settings > System > Keyboard > Manage keyboards settings for the virtual keyboard button to work?

For me, regardless whether I enable or disable Virtual Remote Keyboard, the virtual keyboard button doesn't prompt up in the screen when pressed

QUOTE(Packer @ Apr 21 2022, 05:34 PM)
Both my C716 and C725 can’t change to gboard. However both TVs can use virtual keyboard by pressing the button on remote control.

Both Remote controls seem to be able to work on both TVs.
