May I know the significant difference between P715 & C716? Which model would you recommend?

C series is QLED
P series is LED, hence cheaper.

sounds scary. i bought all my TVs from Senheng. Just 1 call required, they will arrange all the background process with manufacturer. The next call i received is to confirm when the technician can come.

I read that Sony's Triluminous display is basically a quantum dot technology. If that is true, should i go with Sony X80J or TCL C716? Both are selling at the same price now (RM3k).

anyone have the rting's review for C725?

so the good thing about getting this model later than the rest of world is, we'll be getting the upgraded CPU (from ARM cortex A53 to A55), and for Malaysian market it already preinstalled with Google TV.

I was reading this article last night, it's stated the processor is A53.

Either that's unique to India market or for early batch.

Anyway, expect the 55c725 will be available more in shopee next week. And I expect the price will be cheaper than 50c725 sold by the seller from Pahang.

Just received my 55C725. Few challenges:
-all the media connections are on the right side (when you are facing to your tv). This is a hassle to me because all my previous tv their connections are at the left side. So, i need to redo my cable management.
-for dvb-t2 connection, the tv side connector is non screw type, while my coax cable connector is screw type. Probably i need to find the new connector/adapter, but i don't know what is the right keyword. If anyone can point me to shopee or lazada link, it will be much appreciated.

thanks mate! i think this one is perfect for my situation. It's angled (less stress on cable) and i just need to connect the existing screw type end to this adapter.

I dont think I like the GoogleTV features, in fact I prefer the older AndroidTV. Some caveats that i observed:

-missing parent profile for YT Kids. Normally, I just sign in with my profile in YTKids and it load all the kids profiled i created (together with watch and block history).
-unable to hide app and videos recommendation from the GoogleTV launcher. There is a way just to enable app-mode only, but you will lose the google assistant ability (its a tradeoff since the tv came with handsfree google assistant).

It's always an advantage for the older model to be able to flash with newer firmware, just like smartphone.

Other than that caveats, I'm quite satisfied with the overall experience. Definitely snappier than my old 4 yrs AndroidTV and MiBox S.

i was on the same boat with you. some tv that i shortlisted as below (55"):

Xiaomi Q1E QLED Rm2k - cheapest, questionable after sales service for TV, still worth the risk.
Hisense U7G - outdated model
Sony X85J - RM500 more from TCL
Sony X90J - RM1000 more from TCL, FALD, but consume more power. Honestly, i don't mind toping up 1k for this model, almost bought it.

So when I saw C725 selling for around 3k, i quicky grab it as the current C715 is still selling at 2.8k - 3k.

So, my verdict about these TVs, unless you have a trained eyes to spot the differences in color technicality, or unless you put another better tv side by side (just like in showroom), i don't think you will spot the differences - at least to me.

I knew my tv is showing HDR10 or DV logo when playing supported media, but honestly i do not really see the differences (maybe i used with 4k resolution from previous tv).

All in all, it's up to you. So far I enjoyed my C725 (with exception of GoogleTv experience).

Yes, shopee. Also slightly cheaper in lazada, but i opted for 1 year extended warranty in shopee (fulfilled by AIA).

Display unit for C716 or C725?

Coz C725 just recently released.

Just wondering, for those using C716, did you guys received OTA update? If yes, why did you manually updating the firmware? Just curious

I see. I'm asking because I already received 2 OTA updates for my C725. So far it didn't break anything.
