I've been reading through this thread from page 1 after I was given a real-size pamphlet of this tablet PC. I'm planning to buy it at PIKOM PC Fair 2007 @ KL Covention Center this weekend, so I'd like to get some last minute reviews and opinions before I buy it. Please share your experiences. For now, after I did some researches, this is my verdict before I buy:

PROS:
* Innovative touchpad
* Mini remote control for movies, music and photos (COOL!)
* Reasonable cost (is it still RM2999?)
* Touchscreen (if you select this as an option on your tx1000) doesn't require stylus (Can I get this upgrade @ LY?)
* Good selection of ports and multimedia buttons
* Good amount of included accessories such as screen wipe and weight saver
* Screen is scratch-resistant

CONS:
* Screen has some graininess and reflective in office environments (not very bright too)
* Build is mostly plastic, some flex in parts
* No FireWire port
* Can run warm when under demanding use (60-70C)
* Slightly thicker than it should be (quite fat)
* Low write-recognition sensitivity (big letdown for me)
* Passive digitizer (not good enough if I want to use Photoshop)

ALTERNATIVES?
1. Fujitsu LifeBook T4215
2. Toshiba Portege 3505
3. So many TX100 series...

REVIEWS:
1. cnet video review
2. expert review on notebookreview.com
3. User opinions on tabletpcreview.com
4. User opinions on cnet.com

The score above is for TX running Turion TL-60/2GHz. The TX1221AU discussed here runs on Athlon TK-53/1.7GHz. Its 2 different processor.

My TX1221AU gives me 2.8 score only.

I am not sure if TX1221AU is still available cause i don't see any in Low Yat last Saturday. I saw a lot of TX1214AU (with TL-64 i think), the one with Bee Movie promo. That is RM4999...!!!

Hope you'll find your TX in PC fair. I am enjoying mine.

My score is actually 2.4 as pointed out below. kinda blur with my own score.

Thanks demio,

I went to LY yesterday to see the tablet myself. TX13++ runs on Centrino Core2Duo for RM3000++. I expect a little increase in perfomance. An HP guy mentioned that there might be a new model soon. Perhaps it will be introduced during PC Fair just right for Christmas. Anybody can confirm this? BTW, the tablet is awesome! (quite heavy for mobile computing though).

if the graphic card still remain 6150 then dun expect a lot of improvement. As you can see, the low score is due to the graphic.

How much is TC13xx???

I think the TX is doing well now that HP start to ship TX with Intel chip.

Penang PC Fair is selling HP PAvilion tx1316AU, the different is this tablet pc using TK-55 proccessor (1.8Gh). Selling RM2999.
*
i saw TX 1316au selling at thundermatch with the price of RM 3299. with AMD TK-55 proccessor 1.8 Ghz. I dun think tx will have C2D version. Rm 3k still a nice beat ever. I enjoy using my tx 1221au. Pretty cool and stable for me, of course i never run Adobe illustrator. The finishing done by HP is good. Win far far away from Dell and Acer. Get this guys!

Difference only the processor. 1221au is TK-53 which is 1.7Ghz, 1316au is Tk-55 which is 1.8Ghz. Better processor in term of speed. other spec remain the same i think.

yeap i think the rest are exactly the same apart from the processor. went back to PC Fair yesterday and took a look at 1316AU. i wonder how is 1316AU selling??? the last PC Fair 1221AU was selling like hot cake (according to a HP reseller). there was not many 12" laptop below rm3k but this time around i found Acer. rm2999 without OS.

if you are refering to TX1316AU, the difference i spot is only its running on 1.8GHz Athlon now. My 1221AU is running on 1.7GHz. the rest of the spec are the same. In this case, i think the score will be pretty much the same.

Hi,

My tx1221au have some intermittent wireless connection problem..when i was online for about 1.5 hours..suddenly this pc cant detect any wireless signal around..it will recover when i restart the pc..other PCs in the house dont have such problems..(others are XP)

Is it because of this Vista OS? Could somebody help?

regards

Cant really play Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 1 on the TX. Turn all the graphic setting to low and its jerky.

I don't have any issue with my Wifi so far. connected to internet all night.
