I found the HP Pavilion tx1221au in the market with the price of RM 2999.

here is the spec
AMD Athlon 64 Mobile technology TK-53 and 512KB L2 cache (1.7GHz)
1024 DDR2 SDRAM
160 GB Hard Drive
12.1 WXGA high-Definition Brightview Widescreen Display
Integrated touch screen
Nvidia GeForce 6150
FIngerprint
Vista premium

I planned to buy this and upgrade to 2 GIG Ram.

I found that the screen is blur and the color is fade if compare to other pavilion series(i knew it's touchscreen)

Is this model worth to buy? Review pls. Anyone using this?

did compared this model with Compaq V3000 series...seems that its a bit blur/darker as compared with V3000 series... hmm.gif
maybe due to its touch-screen thingy... sweat.gif

Thundermatch is selling this model. This is RM2999(Athlon) the RM4999 is TUrion, the different is only the processor. Can i trust on these cheaper processor?

As i found out, there is no screen protector with. And i really not satisfy with its color. If possible u can go to have a see with this model. Is there anyone using it? I have seen it at mid valley and one utama. Both device i have seen is blur with its colors... as it put beside with other pavilion, i found out other pavilion or compaq screen ALOT better!

any other review on the screen?

I think for the price-RM2999....The specs are ok.
Considering it is HP and 12" and touch screen.
I saw it also....but as ul said...the screen's colour is a drawback.
Again...It is HP.They dont sell perfect Lappies for the price below RM5000.

You mean previously there is discount but it's no longer given now?

I read that there's an extra battery given.

I went to Midvalley a few days ago and it's selling at RM2999 also. I tried the hybrid on the spot. The following is my brief review:

The laptop-tablet hybrid is quite affordable for its specification. This model has comes with a 4-cell and a 6-cell battery. There is only AMD processor in the options. For casual users who uses the computer just for office tasks, surfing etc., processors shouldn't be an issue. The laptop is fairly light but solid enough for everyday use. One of the drawback is its screen. Comparing with other ordinary laptops, this screen is dark and dull. The vista wallpaper which is supposed to be very bright, looks dark in the screen eventhough the brightness is set to maximum. However, the screen is pretty scratch-resistant. I tried to scribble around the screen with appreciable pressure and there is no sign of damage/scratch. Unfortunately, the writing recognition is poor. Maybe I'm not good at using it, writing on the screen is a pain in the a**. You have to write in the small little boxes and in many times, the computer recognised the character wrongly. Because of this, it is almost impossible to write lecture notes(or other notes) into the laptop efficiently. If you are not planning to use the touchscreen function to replace the keyboard, this model is fine. But if you need to write on it, you should be looking for another tablet.

IMO one of the main reasons of getting a tablet is the ability to write on it in tablet form.

If the recognition is bad, then I'll have to look for other models instead.

Nevertheless, I'll drop by some shops and check out the unit myself.

Anyone tried HP Compaq 2710p? It appears to be equipped with ultralow voltage Core 2 Duo processors. Comes with only one 6-cell battery. Unfortunately, the graphics card is an integrated intel graphics.

The 2710p is HP Compaq's highest end tablet PC, which has the Wacom panel. It's very different from the tx1221, which doesn't have this. It is also much more expensive than the tx1221. I think it costs around RM8k+.

sorry to say,..i got the last stock in Penang PC Fair,..but there is a display model for sale~! biggrin.gif
I think only for assignments and jz drawing, it's ok, but not very good for gaming because the graphic card very limited.... plus, 1Gb ram for a vista is not enough,..need to upgrade... tongue.gif
