The TX1221AU comes with Tk-53 processor and according to the Wiki's list of AMD's Turion Processor, TK-53 is already 65nm.

BTW, according to NHC my TXis running at abour 62-65C in room temperature environ. In air con room i get about ard 55C.

Added on October 11, 2007, 10:08 amguy,
when u use NHC, did you fella get the HDD temp? On my TX i dun get the HDD temp on my other HP lpatop running on XP, i do get that reading.

I notice my HDD is running very hot.

I think i'm going to get the 1221 also la.. I purposely get the slowest processor in hope of a longer battery life. The major issues with this Tablet is the heat issue and poor battery life. I'm hoping that hte 31w rating on the athalon will save some power, sacrificing processor speed. The 1214 is also 31 w (after may 2007) and 1215 have 35 w .
Because of the cheap factor, probably get the athlon. If price drop on the 1214, ,maybe will get that as power consumption is same at 31 w

Don't plan to play games on the pc, so need for office work and internet and simple web authoring and blogging. Will also probably get a RAM MOUNT so can use it for GPS in my car la.. Tablet pc really useful to combine with GPS.. use touchscreen is very easy.

Since my bro is supplier of kingston ram, i will also upgrade the ram to 4gb i think.. Do you guys think Ram suck power ah?

Any more advice to me ah?

I've been using PDAs for the past 7 years, so i am really looking foward to using a Tablet PC.. This will be my 1st tablet.

Speed of processor shouldn't be a problem. I do think that the athlon is faster than my 3 year old centrino 1.5ghz with 768MB ram.. ha ha .. i'm managing ok with the old notebook also...
I'm currentyly using 3 year old Presario v1000 notebook. warranty just over. Contrary to what some forumers have written, I LOVE HP SERVICE!
Professional, on time and free coffee tea and kuih in their HP tower. I'v extended warranty on my old laptop for 3 years without regret. 1st year powerpack burn, 2nd year, HDD burn. 3rd year.. noting burn yet la..
All fixed rather well, foc.
Well worth the warranty for 3 years.

Sad to have to replace my current noteboook, but its getting old and just doesn't give me the techie image i want la..
And with the current wave of emagazines, ecomics, i think tablet PC are great to use.

Anymore advise before i buy the athlon, for my reasons? do you think i should get the slightly faster 1214 which consumes about the same power?
Battery life is an issue for me to consider..

Oh ya.. where to buy with best price. I've been buying a few notebooks from the HP centre at low yat.. Also Very very good service. Personal and some free gift.. After sales service is immaculate. One time they change for me notebook with burnt pixel after few months as i was from outstation..
Excellent..

But anywhere in lowyat can get cheaper with more freebies ah?

i f to use it for college assignments and maybe to watch some muvies and play some normal games.....But i tink next year il f to use it for some designing......Is this lap top made for some minor designing?
the specs are ok though.....
How bout the heat....is it too bad?
So if I upgrade the ram, will it bring lots of difference?
*
for minor design?ok je, no prob..
i use 3ds 9.0 /maya -modeling,render simple obj (<50 polygons)
then oso use this lappie for editing movies still ok..but dont expect this lappie perrformance can b same as desktop..upgrade the ram, help..but i think better if u buy the turion one.. the diff is large (plus if u upgrade the ram)...

seem like HP no longer producing this proccessor? Other dealing that selling this might be the older stock they have keep with. Anyway, this is the lowest price of HP paviilion notobook that i have ever seen but far better than any Compaq.

Is all the user satisfy with TX 1221au? personally i face no problem with it till now. happy using it, one problem is screen is too small for gaming hehe!!

Currently i still feel this model lead the most at the moment in term of style, portable, good built up quality, under HP, working flawlessly with attractive pricing. Rm 3k is totaly worhth. other competitive brand will only be Acer and Dell, but these two brand depreciate its value pretty fast. For example, if u if u order a lappy from Dell for RM4k, within two week it declare to lower to RM3599 + alot of freebies. this is called lack of quality of control.

I saw advertisement showing the public of Sony Vaio CR selling at RM 3488. The actual spec is selling Rm5488. the main different is only one is C2D one is Dual core. Perhaps Sony would like to capture customer at lower range like what HP did lol. Anyone have seen this in the market? i think the Rm 3488 is good also as u can use Vaio CR. i feel like buying too hehe...

I have one unit of HP TX1221AU.

1. The performance on TX1221AU is only satisfactory. My experience with Adobe Photoshop CS3 on it is terrible, drawing a vector path can sometime takes 1-2 seconds before it shows up. Can anyone share their Photoshop CS3 experiences here?

2. Heat has never been a problem for me as long as the fan is quiet, and it is quiet. I don't know why people complain about the heat.

3. Tablet screen is not sensitive I agree. Write harder on the screen. It works well for me.

I'm getting this notebook replaced with TX1224AU, which is running on Turion. I hope Adobe Photoshop CS3's performance will improve because I use that a lot, designing is my career.

I will share with you my experiences on TX1224AU if anyone is interested.
