Yes the 2010 is pricey. Any comments on the tx1215AU? Does it has the same issues as the 1221? HP website indicate that the 1215 is RM5499.00 (and the tx1214AU is 4999) Is this price the same everywhere or I can get better deal at Lowyat?

mm.lee and williamngwl: thank you for the helpful posts.

I think even Win XP has such a copyright coding. A few ways you can do.. Get a VLC media player. It plays almost every file format.

if u are a home user, or student, strongly recommended to get this. i got this 2 months ago, pretty good with this lappy. new experience and classic look. Far better then acer and dell with the price of 3k. Remember to get this lappy and upgrade to 2 gig RAM. some where around RM3150. Find wiliamngwl.

this lappy is too good for entertainment. i do mine with gaming(Dota) and watching movie and internet surfing, school assignment, msn and skype chatting. the speaker is good and u will satisfy with its surface quality and the weigh is just resonable enough for u to carry to starbuck of coffee beans. Personally i never use cooler pad. still okay with the heat. better to use in air conditioner room.

yeah just get a software (e.g. NHC) to lower the clock speed thus the heat will be lower and longer batt life too.....

if lower the speed, the temp is around 50-54, if not it will raised till 70C

i using my TX for assignment, movies and some normal game, and of course listen to music as well. Designing like illustrator and photoshop shd be okay for this lappy. Recommend to upgrade to 2 gig if u running alot of application, but currently i using 1 gig RAM, still okay with it. i think there will be no massive big difference between 1 gig or 2 gig RAM. of course 2 gig will be faster maybe a few seconds. About the heat, for me is okay. i never use cooler pad at all. still consider okay to me. if u are using in air conditioner room then it will be greater!

I went n see the unit at Harvey Norman in Sunway new wing yesterday. It's heat is still bearable la. Won't give me low sperm count with prolonged usage on the lap.

Screen also not TOO bad cause I'm only using it for work and to surf.

My only qualm is the it's Vista. I prefer XP. Still not sure whether wanna buy it or not. Cash ready ady. Hahahaha...

I know that eventually everyone needs to upgrade to Vista. But at the moment, most of my applications are for XP. And my immediate needs are all XP based.

If only there's an option for XP instead of Vista.

Ok as we all know most of lowyat members are students or college students, so for me going for laptop is necessary when you must, but if you really don't need mobility, I have to say you will pay a high price sacrificing your gaming and some performance juices. In other words, unless laptop is really a necessity for you, then you have to go with whatever you have for your budget. If not, please stick to desktop cause you will have alot more gaming power and processing power for your designing class that you mention (is it graphic design or web design ? web design won't need that much power perhaps).
