i already wrote there entry mode is already contactless/wave/paywave.

if you read affin's statement, they know EXACTLY the difference between wave-only and wave-then-PIN, which they explicitly exclude wave-then-PIN.

of cos they know, cos > RM250 lol

as long as entry mode = paywave/wave/contactless, then it's recognized as paywave transaction.

however, treatment by each bank is different:

1) pbb cards: wave-then-pin, still recognized as wave entry and eligible for cashback. i.e. pbb dont care about PIN entry.

2) affin cards: wave-then-pin, still recognized as wave entry but it has secondary rule to determine PIN entry, which will not be eligible for cashback if got PIN entry.

this little rule limits my desire to wave Affin VS for transaction >RM250  sweat.gif

Oh wow, your kind reply is so clear and firm! Thanks for that. Looks like affin VS just can use for transaction less tyan 250 if want the 3% cb.

If you pay using MyEG, it'll be very likely fall into government MCC.
If you pay roadtax at JPJ also same.
It is very much depending on the payment channel.

To get rm80 cb/mth at 3% just spend rm2667 on qualified categories.
So can pledge rm3k FD to apply for card with CL rm3k?
*
QUOTE(jiaen0509 @ Sep 16 2020, 06:37 PM)
is affin accept 3k?
*
QUOTE(cybpsych @ Sep 16 2020, 06:37 PM)
to maximize the 20days grace period, you may need at least 2 months worth of CL to float
*
QUOTE(MGM @ Sep 16 2020, 07:30 PM)
I think better to just put in 1 month and to pay up early to free the CL.

Looks like minimum FD pledge is rm5k to get these DUO cards. BTW is there any card acquisition campaign?

wait for few more days?

the card is fairly new, and assuming someone have changed their insurance autodebit to Affin Duo, we'd need their statement to be generated this month.
