No worries, previously using family car only which was serviced regularly by our regular mechanic. But now this car is mine so need to learn how to do regular checking/maintenance.
Only older car need to worry about overheating, usually new car do not have such problem, even if it does there is Thermometer indication as long it never go beyond half, your car is good.
The Radiator don't "Drink" water, it was a completely sealed system and the coolant reduction will be very negligible.
All in all these 3 years as long you service in service center, your coolant/engine fluid should be in healthy level unless there's a defect.
If you really worry, before going for a long trip,
1. Check your engine fluid level should be 3-5 bars from the stick (not full).
2. Open bonnet, on left there is a reservoir for Radiator, make sure it wasn't lower than min.
3. Top up wiper fluid if needed.
