Any guide on how to check the coolant in the engine is enough or need top up? Worried about car overheating etc on a hot day.

I read something about "water" as well, or there is only coolant in the engine ?

No worries, previously using family car only which was serviced regularly by our regular mechanic. But now this car is mine so need to learn how to do regular checking/maintenance.

Usually need to check coolant - as long as above Min level, it's OK. Don't top up water for coolant as it's suboptimal - service center can help to top up.

For engine oil, usually don't need to do anything besides 6 months service unless you notice oil leakage.

See manual here pg 202-205 for coolant and engine oil: http://x50ocm.my/manuals/PROTON_X50_User_manual_EN.pdf

i see. then suggest you buy a bottle of coolant from proton. (RM27? i think. and dont use freaking tap water)
and open front boot while you stand infront your car, there will be a red/pink tank left side (driver side), thats the coolant tank
it got engrave min and max on it..

Only older car need to worry about overheating, usually new car do not have such problem, even if it does there is Thermometer indication as long it never go beyond half, your car is good.

The Radiator don't "Drink" water, it was a completely sealed system and the coolant reduction will be very negligible.

All in all these 3 years as long you service in service center, your coolant/engine fluid should be in healthy level unless there's a defect.

If you really worry, before going for a long trip,

1. Check your engine fluid level should be 3-5 bars from the stick (not full).
2. Open bonnet, on left there is a reservoir for Radiator, make sure it wasn't lower than min.
3. Top up wiper fluid if needed.

Take a good read of the user manual, you might discover many useful tips you are not aware of

For those who is curious if the new side mirror design would help with wind noise, after a few short attempt to 90km/h -130km/h I notice the wind noise greatly reduced, not completely silent but already at acceptable level that it won't stand out unless you pay attention to it. Of course a soft music volume will definitely mask the noise.

But anyway my test is just a very brief <30 second of travel above speed 100km/h

In short if you curious does it help a lot? Yeah I would say quite a lot but not completely silent still which is very acceptable to me, before this above 90km/h I could hear some wind noise like window is not completely shut like that from Passenger side, this is totally gone now.

i tried to ask SC to check my side mirror for wind noise but they didn't have enough time to do the checking.
Also got them to update my IHU to 617. The reverse cam less laggy.

Noticed my engine coolant is at minimum level. Is it okay if I buy my own coolant to add or strictly need to buy from SC? Hope SC isn't strict about this as the coolant.I'm getting from shopee is supposedly from Proton lol.

Anyone bought a secondhand Proton X50 flagship before. I just got mine 2 weeks ago but notice the account login still under previous owner hp number. Now can't login the infotainment/ proton link app. I need to deactivate the previous ownership so that i can register my hp to login.

I’m using Atlas OS sideloaded with Carlinkit

Saw an OTA update for Atlas OS

Anybody knows if updating OTA Atlas will remove the sideloaded apps like Carlinkit or will have any other issues ?
