Can't see any defect. Only that the driver side door, must hit harder to close. If hit like normal, it 100% won't close. All the passenger doors no issue, can hit gently to close.

This is 1) irritating as most of the time first time close it will not close, have to re-do, and 2) I'm afraid may cause long term damage that may lead to rattling as the door is closed with force repeatedly.

you try to hold the handle while closing instead of close with hard strength.. see if it's ok?

My dad's Persona also face the door problem, at 1st I tried several times to close the door, then i found the correct way to close it, just by holding handle while closing rather than swing it to close itself.. can give it a try..

its either 2 of the below, sure can be fixed, probably they are lazy to do it for you

1) Rubber strip not installed properly, this is the same as if people go and install soundproof strip, and the door become difficult to close
2) Door latch mechanism that need to be aligned slightly. can fine tune by adjusting the 3 latch / locking mechanism at the car/door area.

I just spoke to the branch manager of the outlet I purchased from. He is giving me another story, that the driver side door is harder to close due to the tight air seal.

Is that really the case? How come I never heard about this story before.

The good thing is, the branch manager ask me to bring to the showroom, he will look at it. If genuinely got problem, he will get HQ to solve it for me. But it's so troublesome, if only they accept there was an issue during the car collection, they could've resolved it back then already.

I had the same issue when I collected my car back in April. The issue eventually gone by itself after 2 3 months. What your branch manager said may be truth. After a while when the rubber start to wear off abit and the issue will be gone.

I bet it is the same case to any model sold here. I have a read on HRV fb group, one owner get a misaligned gap for the rear boot and another had a dashboard abnormal big gap. SC cant repair it as it was approved by Factory QC. not sure what the other solution in this case. We don't have lemon law to get manufacturers taking this case seriously

Video of the issue I have with the door. It's a real annoyance, and over the longer term afraid if hard hitting will knock the parts loose.

I just did my 1,000km service today. Told Proton service center about the problem. They claim that the door closing issue cannot be resolved, as it is a factory defect problem with no solution provided by Proton HQ engineers. Apparently, they say this is a common complain for X50.

Is this for real? Any avenue left to get my bloody door fixed?

I have similar issue on my front passenger door. It was quite common issue for the batch back then (I got mine around Feb). One workaround is to push the door to close instead of swing it to close, meaning your hand is pushing the door until it closes instead of swing the door and let go of your hand in the middle of closing.

OR send to other SC and complain. Some said certain SC technician don't know and have to try other SC. I did mine at Jawira Balakong, they adjusted the striker plate (the hook-like thingy at the door pillar). If you have the tools you can try it to adjust it yourself, but may need hammering, so better send to SC and let them do it. After adjusting the striker plate, should be fine, unless your case is unlike mine.

Guys, anyone knows what's the average waiting time if you book right now?

I was told by the SA she's quite confident about 3 months but no guarantee, however upon reading this thread I am shocked to find that most only got their car more than 6 months later?

Roughly five months then... And you've booked during MCO too... I guess production should have picked up by now. Thanks 👍
