mind to share, ade greater benefit for sound? or just minor improvement. foresee if add this want to retain all stock speaker
*
In my personal opinion:
- X50 stock/ori speaker : slight improvement, but noticeable, and feels great
- if change to better speakers, should have very good improvement
Cos technically, more channels to adjust will surely give better/improvement to sound quality.. so currently have many models of DSP.. some old some new, different price points with different levels of adjustments available... so tgk apa budget

Just want to share some info regarding wind noise in X50.

There are 2 types of wind noise:
(1) High pitch whistling noise
- Source: Tweeter area
- Not all X50 experience this issue, if you do not hear any whistling noise, good for you.

- Solution: Bring this issue up to your preferred SC, they will insert foam/sound insulation material in your tweeter, FOC. I did mine at Proton Kelana Jaya, no whistling noise now. If you want to DIY, then you can refer to earlier comment where someone shared on putting 2 layers of rubber seal at the front of the door panel, but might abit of an eye sore if you notice it (and that's just my opinion. might look fine to you).

(2) Wind turbulence (I might be wrong about the term here, but I can try to describe the noise that sounds like you're at the beach), when you are driving at >80 or >100 km/h
- Source: Upper side of the window, caused by wind turbulence from side mirror (reportedly by members)
- ALL X50 experience this

- Solution: No official solution as of now, but there are news that Proton has found a solution and will implement this tentatively September 2021.

- Temporary aid to the issue shared by members (reduce wind noise (2) slightly only, do not expect big improvement):
i) Install door seal along your door frame / silicon tubing in your door rubber seal
- Idea is to making it air tight, preventing wind seeping into the cabin while driving at high speed

ii) Install aero fins / vortex generators / fairing body kit on the outside of the triangular side mirror frame.
- Idea is to create vortex, deflect wind slightly downwards

iii) Install visor
- Someone shared installing these will reduce wind noise, but I'm not sure are they referring to wind noise (1) or (2). But installing visor will create another case of wind turbulence, I personally do not recommend this (but who am I to recommend stuff?), so you can of course try them if you are curious and willing to.

iv) Inserting sponge and better tape at the front and at the top end of the door panel rubber wrap

So if you encounter ppl sharing solution in Facebook, to insert insulation material in your tweeter to solve the wind noise, take note it will only solve the whistling noise, not the turbulence noise. Cheers cheers.gif

Tweaking the equalizer (if you know what you're doing) gives me good sound quality on my stock X50 Premium. Quite comparable to my PC speaker (Logitech Z625).

Bass is sufficient, not too thump-y nor too flat. Mids and highs are clean as well.

Maybe that's just me or maybe you guys have high audio expectations coming from conti cars, I don't know.

"4. Difficulty in closing the door without slamming it
Ans : If found out upon collection of car, asked your SA to adjust the rubber. You may have to file for a claim.

8. How do I get proton link ? How to make it work ?
Ans : Ask your SA to settle it for you on the spot. Otherwise it is troublesome to get support from Proton afterwards.

10. There is a gap between the plastic at passenger side seatbelt and B pillar
Ans : This is a very common issue kindly get SA to rectify for you

11. Missing side mirror cap !
Ans : Please tell me you haven’t drive X50 out of proton yet, otherwise immediately go back to then and ask them to fix it. Could be defect during assembly point, all thanks to CKD

12. Crack/chip on plastic around tweeter unit
And : Same thing if you already sign the papers and drove your car out, there is no hope in claiming warranty or fix for free"

anyone in the new batch still encounter these?

and how does missing side mirrr cap looks like? means the painted cover?

Not the painted cover. It's a cover at the bottom of the side mirror. If you look at the bottom and notice a big hole, then your cover is missing. It is supposed to be fully covered. I don't find this complaint recently, but best to check and make sure it's there upon collection

Normal for any car if you didn't drive for along time, just drive it and it will remove those rusts as you brake..
Alternatively, you can invest in wheel cleaners with iron removers thumbsup.gif

send to sc check, no issue. they confirm they did not do anything.
back to home, it feels normal.

no more issue.

but i am sure the other day the car was super slow, need to rev until 3k rpm and it started moving.

like my old wira many years ago.

Probably motherboard code error or plug malfunctioned, you basically lost boost. It may come back again from watching those YouTube videos about people restoring wrecked cars. Need to find the root cause

Bro try my suggestion, which I shared with X50 fb group.

1) use “ PROTON “ preset EQ on Proton GKUI
2) if you use Spotify or Apple Music or Joox, go to your settings and manually tune yourself. I recommend lowering Db power for high frequency range from 250hz to 14khz (- negative) and keep lower range 25hz to 120hz as default value

Hi guys.

So I just applied for booking and loan on the x50 flagship like last week.

Salesperson told me it'd be around 3-6 months for it to arrive. But looking at some stories online. There's quite a number of stories saying that it took them way longer than that.

Should i just say screw it and wait patiently. Is the x50 really worth the nerve racking wait? The test drive was great, the car felt punchy and nimble. Implementation of Adas was also great on the car.

I feel like there's not much other car that can beat the value of the x50.

Or is it just a bad idea? Would be great to hear from existing x5o owners.

If you can wait, it is never a bad idea.
Agree on the part "no other car beat the value".

Thats why after reconsider last month, I'll wait even if it passed the tax exemption.
But my SA confirm expect my queue coming soon, approx next month, as SEPT booking almost all cleared.

Adjust your expectation that this car isn’t going to be instantly available; or play by the crook rule - go find someone with cable and pay your way to cut the queue. Basically like those Xiaomi flashsale style back in the early 2010s, you either fight your luck to grab a unit at flash sale or pay extra to scalper to get it easier/quicker.

Though of course, if you have extra budget, there’s always better Japanese cars out there for RM30-60k more than X50’s pricing, it’s entirely up to your choice.

So if booking now and got it after the tax exemption period

Will I still entitled to the tax exemption?

Book it on March, loan approved

Still in waiting list

Default equalizer very limited tuning. If you have chance sitting in a x50 added a DSP with 15 band and more, then you might feel the huge different compare to stock in term of sound quality
