Nobody in their right mind will ever wait that long.
Not even half a year.
I mean what for?
By the time u got ur x50 after waiting a year, the whole country is flooded with that car already.
And u are already 1 year later.
Maybe newer more dated model (FL) already launch.
*
Buy the x50 so to be the first on the road? No need la

Anyway spoke to my SA, on dealer's side they also dem frust as they are clueless when car comes in. 6 months or 1 year, nobody knows.
But surely some give up and cancel along the way, which will hasten for those in queue.

If you need a car now, there is lot of other good cars too. Go to their showroom, you might get hooked as well.
We are in adrenaline drive, want the x50 asap.

Just step back and look to the reality, either juz chill and wait, or go get another car and enjoy it.
Wont waste too much your energy to be a customer.

Does anyone know how does the allocation work? I paid booking fee on 15/9/2020 with the SA (before the soft launch).

Until now I was told that they are still allocating chassis number for me (how long does that normally take ?)

It's quite funny, i must have been one of the first few who have paid booking fee , see so many otr already and yet mine haven't even have a delivery date.

The dealer allocation the cars to customer is one thing, Proton allocate cars to dealer is bigger problem.

Dealers will submit their requests of customer bookings to Proton... but if you choose Flagship White, but Proton keep sending other colors and type to dealer, you just have to wait and wait and wait, while others get their cars.

So people see a small no. of ppl showing they get their car after 2 week booking in FB.. that is pretty much luck, small dealer get the color and model ngam ngam that ONE customer only wants.

As per my previous comment, book then put your mind away, and see when the car come. Later today Im visiting Honda & Toyota, see the new cars can change my mind onot.

First time buyer for DASHCAM, any reliable brand out there that record front and back. Mid-budget, needs to be small and clean-looking.

Since no car yet... scouting for dashcam lo

this proton really sampah
booked a unit on sept
all paper settled and just need to WAIT

Now get call from sales saying that priority will be given to those who take the RM3500 package o0o
still so lansi to say
"if you take the package, confirm can get by this month"
"if don't want, then next year maybe end of jan or feb will get"
"aiya, you see, you spend 3500 now and get it, but you need to pay SST , even higher than 3500 if you get next year"
"so consider it wisely"

ccb
I just reply
"prepare to get my cancellation after the SST price gap being announce"

END CALL

who knows maybe CMCO will extend even longer and SST exemption would be extended as well
then those who compromise to take the stupid rubbish package will rage LOLLLL
*
Can pass ur unit to me, I dont mind Rm3500 with package... like he say SST exemption can offset...

I offered this to my SA, but dealership dem honest, wait according to queue

I dont think cancelling is a problem, but if what you are looking of the SST deduction, you should have cancelled earlier and move on to other cars that can deliver within 2020.

Cancel now actually wont benefit you anything. Unless you need a spanking new car asap. X50 is the best of it's price currently, if you are looking for H or T, go ahead and book them now... when that car is ready, only then cancel X50.

On the matter of extending SST exemption, my guts feeling is it wont extend. The gomen had done enough for auto industry... motor tax is good money, take them and put at other place needed.

Your SA should know you are on which que no. for the chosen color for their branch.
Each Dealer will have their list to do follow up.

If don't have, then you better start look for another dealer or Avita or HRV 2021/2022.
*
SA can control the dealership queue.... but supply from Proton they simply cant do anything about it.

So SA will take a safety route, tell you dunno, better than tell you next week, then Proton deliver 3 cars, none of them the colour you wanted.

That's why we see some of us with SA asking you want other colour or not, cause they strictly follow queue, colour consider later.

The dealers with lots of customer, they likely follow colour first, then queue afterwards.

I am intending to get an SUV in 2022. So decided to research the coming HRV.

1st impression , not impressed at all. The front looks aweful! Interior has improved but seems like a lazy attempt, nothing to wow! The Ativa also does not appeal to me!

X50 still leads on my list! Saw an orange X50 yesterday. Really very pretty! I'm prepared to wait for this color as I'm not in a hurry!

If you think of getting in 2022, booking now, 2022 will get

This is NOT enforced by proton, but by the outlet which I am buying my car from is forcing their customers to buy. I actually booked with another outlet at the same time, but they did not force me to buy the utility package. so this is an optional upgrade by proton, but this rogue outlet forced all their customers to buy it.
*
Sorry to differ, the SA dont force you to buy because in principle it is OPTIONAL, but when the car come, with the colour of your choice. Your SA will ask you "Your Red X50 available, but prebuilt with the optional kit, you want onot?, or else have to wait which i donno when."

Yes, my feedback from SA is now the X50 come with the kit prebuilt. How I know it is true, I ask them can I move the smarttag emitter to the side. They say cannot, it comes with the car now. All of them, at least for flagship.

The SA is pretty helpless in most thing in this X50 supply fiasco. They have no control of the variant/color/kit they receive.

Do I wanna fault Proton, a bit at least. But reality is too much demand at a time where parts is coming slow and less for assembly. But should we be pissed for forcing the kit to us, YES! Even for me who plan to get it.

I think the msg is self explanatory... like I said, this is not by Proton but individual outlets, so expect each outlet to give different scenarios
*
I dont think you get my point. The dealers cannot tell the public Proton fixed all the X0 with the kit. Because Proton public policy is OPTIONAL kit.

But in reality, is it really optional? NO. It's not dealer's level of decision making anymore, if all the car comes in with the kit.

Hi guys.

So I just applied for booking and loan on the x50 flagship like last week.

Salesperson told me it'd be around 3-6 months for it to arrive. But looking at some stories online. There's quite a number of stories saying that it took them way longer than that.

Should i just say screw it and wait patiently. Is the x50 really worth the nerve racking wait? The test drive was great, the car felt punchy and nimble. Implementation of Adas was also great on the car.

I feel like there's not much other car that can beat the value of the x50.

Or is it just a bad idea? Would be great to hear from existing x5o owners.
*
If you can wait, it is never a bad idea.
Agree on the part "no other car beat the value".

Thats why after reconsider last month, I'll wait even if it passed the tax exemption.
But my SA confirm expect my queue coming soon, approx next month, as SEPT booking almost all cleared.
