I was already in queue for Flagship back in September then.... I changed booking to premium the day after the price is announced but I only receive sms now omg

I got sms 2 days after i booked. SA told me now that priority is given to cash buyers. Sigh. They should follow the queue.

There is so many different information out there. My SA told me I'm in q no. 90++ despite booking on 16th Sept. So it's unlikely for me to get the car this year. I understand that some outlet is too popular and you'll get the car sooner if you book at outlet with less order.

I have asked my SA whether is there any way to push up my timeline but she said no.

And then in facebook group, there are claims that you'll get the car sooner if you pay cash or go for the "optional" package. And I have actually booked from 4 outlet and none of them said this is true.

Yes, at least 3 dealers with different SA has given me that same kind of response. Either fully pay up in cash for the car, or take the package, if you want your car faster than anyone else.

The thing that makes me go ranting.gif ranting.gif ranting.gif is that, I followed the FB page of the dealer that I booked my car. The car that I should get last Wednesday, goes to that guy in the video posted by the dealer. A bit of digging, that guy who cut the queue actually comes to the dealer and demand to have the car, and bring in cash to get the car by this week...

My sis received the sms from SA after she signed the HP loan agreement.

Initially booked the Premium, later changed to Executive after price announcement.

I also talked to 3 or 4 SA.

All said no speed up for cash buyers. I asked what is faster because I could buy cash or take a loan, both equally ok for me.

All (!) said if you take the "optional package" it will cause DELAY.

Some say the "popular colors" (red for example) will take LONGER, the not so popular will go faster.

But the main thing is the PRICE. As most orders cannot be delivered before Dec 31 whatr about the tax in 2021? Some SA told me that Proton will absorb the cost, some told me, the customer needs to pay. Obviously Proton has not decided yet. I will not take the ordered Flagship if it will be RM 6k more expensive but claim the RM 500 deposit back. But with so many orders Proton maybe does not care about cancellations and just wave goodbye to you. I hope Geely will think different and urge to absorb the tax cool2.gif

By the way meanwhile I got two SMS about my order already, hope the first date still counts. But I don´t really care about the delivery date as long as the price stays at 103.300 w/o insurance.

It's still business, so i doubt they will help customer absorb. If they wanted to, they could have done it during the launching (e.g. 1st 30k bookings)

Heard from my SA said I will definitely get my car this month. Not sure how true it is but I trust my SA since quite reputable.

Dealers actually earn less if you buy cash (They lose out a few hundred bucks commission from the bank), so there is no incentive to let them cut queue if there is already a waiting list.

That guy who jumped queue probably paid undertable money to the dealer to jump queue, like when back in the Proton Wira days.

This is true. SA gets commission from banks for each HP loan signed.

For example. The SA for the recent car I've purchased. He got a RM600 commision from the bank for a RM40k HP loan deal.

Imagine closing at least 10 sales with loan of at least RM40k, per month.

That is already at least RM6k in extra commisions right there

With the cash its easier for them to roll the money for more units, no need to wait for bank.

Well, if they not absorb the costs and keep the price they have advertised then certainly many people will cancel their bookings. Sure it not hurts as much as with other cars with not so good booking record. But every lost customer that goes to another brand hurts in the end, for example Perodua will definitely go hunting for these disappointed customers with their new D55L. Not alternative for me but surely for some folks who placed order for the Standard.

Yep, AFAIK it's RM600 no matter the loan amount. It's a fee the bank pays to the dealer for their help in securing the customer and some paperwork.

The dealer must be having some desperate cashflow problem to have to resort to encouraging their customer to buy cash so the dealership can afford new stock laugh.gif

Most dealers I know have stockyard(s) almost filled with new cars; Stock shortage usually due to slowpoke manufacturer (such as the X50 is, in this case), not because the dealer can't afford to stock them.

In my personal experience, whenever the topic of cash buy is broached, the SA always encourage me to take a loan instead. One of them told me the rebates / free gifts will be revoked if I buy cash, another plead to me to take at least a 3 yr loan. RM600 is not a small amount for them.

On a related note, if you're buying cash, pay close attention to the invoice to make sure you are not charged an extra RM600 "handling fee". Because you're buying cash and they don't get that commission from the bank, some sneaky dealers try to charge the customer that RM600 instead. Be sure to clarify every single cent they billed to you.

Depends on your needs, if you want super comfy and convenient to clean then Dodo is the one;
If you just want basic and still look nice then Trapo.
