QUOTE(charge-n-go @ Dec 5 2008, 09:14 PM) Yo dude, these are my mods: wow nice mods....and good advice too1) BRT dual band CDI, can set the firing angle and rpm limiter manually. 2) NOB1 SSS pipe 3) Self modified stock carburetor with funnel alike air intake. 4) changed jetting in carburetor (mainjet #110, still searching for #22.5 needle jet) 5) Air box removed 6) YYPang racing valvespring 7) 15-42 sprocket 8) Bigger front disc + steel brake hose 9) Denso Iridium spark plug 10) Increase compression ratio from 10.9 to ~12.0 (0.6mm head shaved off) tried but dislike modifications: racing cam + 28mm mikuni carb ^ the setting is hard to get perfection, and always having cold start problem. but the power is really AWESOME!! Best ways: 1) change exhaust to NOB1 SSS 2) remove airbox 3) rejet carburetor 4) change racing CDI and racing coil all 4 items above doesn't touch engine. But well.... if you don't use original Yamaha oil filter oso they say no more warranty. So i dunno if you change to racing CDI, they still give warranty or not... they can claim that your racing CDI caused the ignition timing no longer standard and spoilt the engine. Dude, can you help me to find racing low-camshaft. Make sure it is a low-cam. High cam is not good for normal riding although it has awesome top rpm power. Thanks !! Thanks mate. You have one too if u use NOB1 and remove your airbox im gonna change my pipe first...but anywhere in the island can get that nob1? cuz i need some1 to go with me to take my stock pipe back |

how much for changing a racing carburetor ? bigger is better or smaller? True or not that CDI is the last to change after change those carb, camp, block and piston, exhaust? This post has been edited by mls_gamer: Dec 6 2008, 12:24 AM |

QUOTE(Spayz @ Dec 5 2008, 11:07 PM) wow nice mods....and good advice too aih... if Penang island got NOB1, I oso no nit to go soooo far to change, and then borrow car from fren to fetch my pipe back im gonna change my pipe first...but anywhere in the island can get that nob1? cuz i need some1 to go with me to take my stock pipe back QUOTE(tanabe84 @ Dec 6 2008, 08:31 AM) hohoho, nice to meeet u that time QUOTE(mls_gamer @ Dec 5 2008, 11:28 PM) Charge-n-go A true modder always start with engine modification first. how much for changing a racing carburetor ? bigger is better or smaller? True or not that CDI is the last to change after change those carb, camp, block and piston, exhaust? According to 4-stroke performance tuning theory, horsepower and torque can be increased significantly from stock by optimizing the air/fuel mixture into your engine chamber and then ignite it at the right time, with a big and hot spark. From your modification, perhaps you can make a custom exhaust pipe. The muffler can be re-used, but the part which connects directly to engine must be changed. Increasing about 1/2" and make the L shape curve smoother can increase the power very well. However, don't make the diameter too big. This will result in slow flow exhaust gas (according to Bernoulli Theorem). Racing carb is definitely a better choice compared to racing CDI. Racing carb $$$ varies from model to model. Some cheap ones are below RM250, and expensive one are more than RM1000. Mine is only a cheap one, RM250 punya Mikuni 28mm. It has good power, but response is bad. Sometimes, tarik throttle for 1 second only starts to boost....really omg. Now I revert back to stock and re-jet the carb myself. If using Mikuni Yoshimura MJN series, its 28mm is really awesome, even better response than our stock carb and produce more power than the normal 28mm carb. It is used in 135LC cubprix, power leh... Guess what's the price of that Yoshimura MJN 28mm? My advice is: 1) Customize your exhaust header / extractor. 2) Change to a racing carb. 28mm Uma Racing should be ok if the jet size are tuned correctly. 3) Change to racing valvespring to eliminate valve floating. Stock springs are too soft for high rpm. 4) Change to a racing CDI. That time your bike should can go 12,000rpm, higher than Takumi's AE86 Tofu car. Hope my 2 cents help. QUOTE(mls_gamer @ Dec 7 2008, 02:09 AM) if i use bigger carb that bigger than 28mm, i have to increase the part which connect to the engine with the stock exhaust? that part is called manifold. Racing valve spring cost around how much? and where it locate? btw, NOB1 SSS muffler comes with manifold, not 'tabung' only so no need to change the manifold. |
