Hey thunderbird ,
The CDI brand is BRT Hyperband , Market Price is around RM300..
Sure got diff , u can pull ur throttle until the Max , No RPM cut.. Means No limit 4high RPM.. Hehe =)

Some time ago, can't recall the exact day. It is at night. If not mistaken, around Bukit Jambul round about or somewhere in Bayan Lepas. I didnt see plate number, but I do see the bike color is yellow / blue, quite similar like your bike color.

1. Using stock camshaft, our bike can NEVER go beyond 10,000rpm.

2. When using racing high camshaft, about 272 degree type, engine able to rev up to 12,500rpm

3. It is STRONGLY advisable to change to racing valvespring when using racing camshaft. My racing camshaft has minor damage ady after 1 month only!!! It is GENUINE yamaha camshaft....... The stock valve spring is tooooo soft to run at high rpm.

I found out my top speed only 130kmh 140kmh.....

this is the latest batch, thinking to change CDI first..

Racing CDI usually gives about 10kph - 20kph boost in topspeed only (depending on how light is our meter, diff LC has slightly diff defect in meter). If we want very good topspeed, a racing CDI must pair with racing camshaft and a bigger carb.

This is my personal experience. If you don't believe me, can google around for the theory behind camshaft design. Stock camshaft will never give good high rpm power.

If u reli wan top speed , Change ur Sprocket =)
STock sprocket is 15:19 = 2.6
I using is 15:36 = 2.4
It can increase ur top speed =)

If u juz chng CDI , top speed stil same.. Hehe

Yes, this is another method

but personally I dislike smaller rear sprocket. It sacrificed my acceleration quite a lot.
Oh well, with 15:42 now, I am able to top at 140kph easily, and 150kph on very long distance / downhill. That's good enough for my daily ride...... although deep inside my heart, I still want 180 KPH !!! drool.gif drool.gif

Yea.. dat time i chng wrongly.. i wan pick up de.. de felow chng dis smaller sprocket 4me -.- bt top speed i can go 4 160km/h++ O.o
Nvm , my pick up stil win alot of bike.. coz i using cluth 1.. Hehe..
Bt i thinking to chng 15:42 aso.. save $$ 1st XD

but no plan to touch the engine yet... because still under warranty.

I guess the easiest way to boost some power is to change the CDI.

What do you guys think?

i might going to Jakarta next week for a business trip,

so i plan to buy Vixion aka FZ150i block, piston, camshaft and also BRT CDI.

one of my colleague owned Vixion in JKT and he quite like to modify.

vixion block, piston, cam in JKT i heard it is a lot cheaper than here....

I will buy it and keep it first, because seldom travel to JKT.

Yo dude, these are my mods:
1) BRT dual band CDI, can set the firing angle and rpm limiter manually.
2) NOB1 SSS pipe
3) Self modified stock carburetor with funnel alike air intake.
4) changed jetting in carburetor (mainjet #110, still searching for #22.5 needle jet)
5) Air box removed
6) YYPang racing valvespring
7) 15-42 sprocket
8) Bigger front disc + steel brake hose
9) Denso Iridium spark plug
10) Increase compression ratio from 10.9 to ~12.0 (0.6mm head shaved off)

tried but dislike modifications:
racing cam + 28mm mikuni carb
^ the setting is hard to get perfection, and always having cold start problem. but the power is really AWESOME!!

all 4 items above doesn't touch engine. But well.... if you don't use original Yamaha oil filter oso they say no more warranty. So i dunno if you change to racing CDI, they still give warranty or not... they can claim that your racing CDI caused the ignition timing no longer standard and spoilt the engine.

Dude, can you help me to find racing low-camshaft. Make sure it is a low-cam. High cam is not good for normal riding although it has awesome top rpm power. Thanks !! notworthy.gif

Want to change gas monoshock today....but they not recommed me to change those low cost between rm200~300, they recommend me change >rm500 type of monoshock......... sweat.gif


So today just change
FDR 90/80 rear tyre (rm170)
Racing Block K.C.S
X1r tail lamp (rm40)
front tyre 80/80 (
coolant liquid (YAMAHA)
Racing Cam
RIDE IT handle (rm15)
remove airbox
total cost: rm730

today i also saw a lc user add a bellypan and change front mudguard (mudguard and belly is one set) cost rm175.. but cannot use single stance liao...haha....and everytime change the EO have to remove the bellypan....

I want to lower my front fork...but they say have to take some time and cost 45...hmmmm

my top speed can go to 160 drool.gif
CDI will be the next......maybe after chinese new year
