Drop price includes Holy Panda switches, BoW keycaps and matching wristrest. Not buying it anyway. I jut thought it was a super cool idea. Everything in gold and transparent plastic.

That keyboard and cable and keycaps really suits man. Very retro.

If you pass me just the PCB, I guess, I can just do it for free as a courtesy, if there's any disassembly involved then it'll be my standard "minimum charging fee".

for fun and science, i bought and used this no-brand compact soldering station with t12 tips for few months now, https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=610557624807 ( replacement t12 tips, https://shop124267013.taobao.com/ )

note that the default tip is t12-k (knife shaped); you can leave the model of t12 tip that you want when you purchase the set (e.g., t12-d24)

compared to gj907 and kasadi 936 + genuine hakko tips (both with copper mod; haven't tried thermal paste method), this one heats up fast (like 10 seconds, to 300c); has auto-sleep function when you put the iron at resting position; also, its heat transfer is better. with it, i can do soldering/desoldering with 63/37 solder at 300c quickly. (with gj907 and kasadi 936, i usually use 330c) probably because of this, there is still no sign of melting or deform of the silicone tube on engineer ss-02 (the tube was said to be able to withstand temperature up to 350c)

imo it's an option for casual soldering/desoldering switches and parts (i.e., hobbyist usage)

you can collect parts/kits, then build them, both progressively.

these days i just focus on collecting barebones/kits for 60/65/75%. base costs for each of these reference builds are not high. (depending on parts used) i can live with tuned tray-mount/top-mount builds; i have found layouts that i wanna stick to, and plate types that i wanna use (at least aluminum, brass, fr4, cf, pc) if i liked a combo very much, i will get new cases for it. tbh, the potential combos are massive. i am still very far from making a repeated build.

occasionally, i also fix my own mess, or add new mods that i learned to existing builds. i don't intend to fix some old builds, because they are proofs that i was once very bad in tuning.

just do everything at your own pace. it's supposed to be fun while building something that you want from scratch

The Q1 is still on pre-order and it has limited quantity (mine still haven't ship yet) so I guess it'll take a while before local seller get their stock for resell.

hey guys, I wonder what spring length you guys prefer for tactile switches?

I just order a bunch of TX sample packs.
I find 14mm is the most tactile for the mx clears.
Likely due to the softer initiation?

Bought some random switches to test out along with my PE Foam pads for the switches. Also bought a random aluminum switch opener even though I don't have anything else related to lubing yet - not even the lube. Wanted to save cost by one shotting everything into one order but ended up going a bit wild. laugh.gif Next purchase is probably the lube. I can use my Akko cases to hold the switches while I lube so I can save a bit there. Trying to figure out if I want Alpacas, Tangerines or Banana Splits as my endgame Linears. Supposedly they're very similar to each other according to people who have them.
