TBH not that useful for me, if not useless.
Now most TV support wireless casting already. I can just cast youtube played on my phone to TV with 1-2 steps.

Precisely. I've never used DeX on any of the Samsung flagship phones I've owned. Not once laugh.gif

Cause before this you gotta spend for flagship phones to experience this, with android 10, android desktop mode comes to all android 10 phones.

And with third party developers now devoloping their own skin for android desktop mode, it will be more useful in the future.

Some people who have Samsung even install Dex on PC on their old laptops and run Dex on it to make it new again.

I guess not many mine not having this.

Comes down to you want latest snapdragon 865 (ie poco f2 pro) or last years chip with usb-c to hdmi (ie oneplus 7 pro)

Hard decision to make.

So... 1+7 Pro then? That phone itself is one hell of a beast, pretty sure u won't be disappointed by its performance for years to come.

Yeah, the 1+7 Pro is pretty good bang for buck now for a SD855 device. I'd definitely get one if I hadn't tested it already smile.gif

Wait for price to drop to around 3k first laugh.gif

Anyway, summary of the GSMArena review is pretty good: -

"...we are happy to recommend the Poco F2 Pro. It remains true to its flagship killer heritage - the same thing that made the Poco F1 famous. And despite the significant price increase, we think that Xiaomi has found a nice market niche for it.

There are some considerations, though. The camera experience has its flaws, and it's far from polished. But when have the flagship killers offered flagship-grade camera performance? The lack of a proper 2x telephoto is a misstep, as well as skipping the expandable storage, although you get a couple of rare commodities these days - a 3.5mm audio jack and full-screen design. The lack of a high refresh rate is a strange omission for a new €500+ phone coming out in mid-2020. Still, it's an excellent screen - it gets super bright and brings HDR10+ support.

Battery life is remarkable, fast charging is at hand and the Poco Launcher just flies on this thing and it comes with numerous features that are hard to find all in one place.

So yes, overall, the Poco F2 Pro is an excellent all-rounder that's worth every extra penny on top of its predecessors. Perhaps in a different way and perhaps for a different crowd, but it remains a 'flagship killer' nonetheless."

No need badmouth other for not paying flagship price in 2020. I use all generation Nexues ( except Nexus One ) and 1st gen Pixel XL.
And yes Android 10 have hidden desktop mode, not restricted to 'flagship' phone only.

Android Desktop mode can almost predicted to be abandon by Google and others in just few years time. Apps support is the key here ( or the lack of )
Same reason Android failed to capture mainstream tablet market, Android apps are not optimized well enough to run on over size display, nor most of them have proper tablet mode.
Most Chromebook user and reviewer will tell you Android apps support and optimization in Chromebook are near rubbish, most of Chromebook display are much larger than phone, and support touch control as well.

Android desktop mode projected to even larger size monitor and TV, with almost non existence touch control, are so far gimmick. They tried for years now and not getting any better.

Only hope are Google's project Fuchsia, which build up from ground, and at least few years away from seeing real product.

Despite all the hate for not having high refresh display, I'm glad at least the feedback from gsmarena is positive

Cant be sure on Poco F2 pro, or now.

But during F1 time, it got way more OS update, if memory correct, about 2-3 week once.
After jump to Mi9T, I got one OS update maybe 5-6 weeks once.

The only competition in the same price range in Europe for this phone is the OP7T, Realme X50 Pro, S10 Lite and iPhone SE. It’s a no-brainer to recommend this phone then smile.gif

Its a mixed bag feeling for me, especially when it comes to S10 lite and iPhone SE. Positive feedback and great reputation made them strong contenders.

There will be inkambing miui 12 for Note 7 I hope. Saw them in the device list for miui 12 beta.
