Thanks a lot. I guess time to give RHB a visit.

I have GBP account in HSBC. Can I buy GBP in RHB and transfer it to HSBC GBP account?
*
Why buy when you pay more for FX spread 🤦‍♀️ based on RHB FX Rates

QUOTE(touristking @ Mar 8 2023, 03:02 PM)
I look at the rate here and it's very bad. The rates for using RHB MC debit card different rates?

https://www.rhbgroup.com/treasury-rates/mul...card/index.html
*
Yes as debit card it is based on payment network live rates by the payment provider whether it is Visa or Master or others

Why not you try together TnG Visa and BigPay Visa or MasterCard the older ones if you have?

To be fair, I think you need to include RHB outgoing TT from the MCA biggrin.gif

I use this to decide on which card for payment in foreign currency. Not for fund transfer ..

BTW, I am NOT affiliated with RHB or Wise, just happen to own both cards .. biggrin.gif

is the transaction amount posted already? some banks only give estimation, then the final posted amount is adjusted.

Initiate Forex first, followed by debit card transaction. No additional charges.

I would still use WISE over RHB. So far my Wise support is very good. This is more important. Whatever the small exchange rates is negligible. I don't trust RHB and has little faith in Bigpay(which I also have).

WISE for me.

IINM, another forumer shared outbound TT is flat USD 10 and must be done OTC, so definitely Wise is the better one.

The requirement of only able to do transaction during business hours and need to OTC for any foreign outward TT is already a big problem. laugh.gif and if not mistaken can only convert during market hours, not sure? Maybe someone can explain more on this. laugh.gif Wise is like 24/7

It's not about exclusive. When you are overseas, you want the most reliable card that works and customer service that's response to you. Interest in debit card doesn't interests me...Its not like I will put 100k inside. What for? I will only put in enough for my use and ensure I can top up reliably online if needed when I am overseas.

Paywave is not a big issue. As long as PIN works, it doesn't bother me at all.

I'm starting to liek WISE more cause of the hassle free xfer. Maybank etc so much question, wise I been moving out multiple funds in patches of ~30k no questions asked so far.

Also my recent trip been using wise not bad, should be slightly better then using my RHB/AMEX card. hassle free though the wave function is fairly limited I find most of the time I need to key in the code..

So recently I have been reading comments inside some post of wise Facebook page and I found out that there are quite some negative comments saying that their account being deactivated or closed down by wise which money still inside the account. They are calling wise a scam as they said that they did not do anything that violate the rules from wise. What do you guys think ?
