Well - not sure if it's because I hadnt use the pin and pay yet to activate, but tried adding card to apple pay - NOPE.

Mine is the Visa version (personal acc - business acc is still missing this), which is the "out of beta" version
*
Received MY Wise card this week and managed to activate/use it for chip & pin transaction.

However, it failed to get through contactless transaction yesterday, after activation.

Anyone faces similar problem ?

Thanks

Check card settings? From my settings, seems like you need to enable it after activating it via chip & pin
*
it is enabled for all payment methods (contactless inclusive), not exceeding transaction limits either.

I will ask for the transaction error codes next time when I try.

Is your pin 4 digit? Does it work with pin and pay because in MY we need 6 digit pin.
*
It's 4-digit PIN and worked with chip & PIN transaction.

I just tried contactless at another store just now and the transaction went through successfully.

It's all good to go.

I am sorry that I cannot locate a more recent PayPal thread. Anyway, I want to ask on how to transfer USD from my PayPal Malaysia account, to my Wise Multi Currency USD account.
I have tiny amount of USD in my PayPal Malaysia account. The issue is that PayPal Malaysia allows withdrawal to only Malaysian bank savings accounts. As such, my USD will be converted at PayPal's unfavourable USD-MYR rate.
I would prefer that my USD is directly transferred from my PayPal Malaysia account, to my Wise Multi Currency USD account. That way, I can keep my money as USD, avoiding the loss to currency exchange. I do not mind paying some fee for the direct transfer, as long as my money is retained as USD.
Thank you for your advice. smile.gif

There is a USD7.5 flat rate fee for "Receiving" USD wire transfers, FYI ..

Account pricing
Receive money in EUR, USD, GBP, AUD, NZD, HUF & SGD Free
Receive USD using ACH or bank debit Free
Receive USD wire transfers
7.50 USD

To "Add" USD, there is a fixed fee of USD4.14.

I wonder what is the difference between "Add" vs "Receive", apart from the fee structure.

I faced the same problem as you. Tried chip and pin 1st time, then tried contactless at another store but failed.
Had to use chip and pin again and successful. Then tried 3rd store, still cannot use contactless.  rclxub.gif
How did you manage to solve your problem? Maybe because I used all in the same day?
*
1st PIN activation(successful) and contactless(declined) transactions were at the same shop on different days.

Subsequent contactless transaction(successful) was at a different shop. I have not made any new transactions since then.

Maybe contactless is only accepted at certain outlets ?

Is it grey color wired terminal?
If it is CIMB grey Color wired terminal which have a lot issues  doh.gif
Nothing to do with merchant but it is from the bank side which mostly are not configured are to access universal card issued by VIsa or MC  doh.gif

Even those mobile orange color can accept it with no issue so it is bank end  doh.gif
Ekyc is needed is because for the card to be issue under account holder name  doh.gif

Without physical card no need for ekyc

Btw anyone received the card with Visa Platinum on it?
*
Yes, "Visa Platinum".

Does it carry additional benefits ? I doubt it for prepaid/debit card ..

You should be able to transfer from one Wise USD account to another Wise USD account as you have the ACH routing number and account number. Unless you are transferring more than RM20k (includes all transfers to your account and all currency current balances) which they would automatically reject.
*
------------------------------------
Transfer money locally
From 28 October 2021, there will also be some limitations if you’re sending money to a bank account in Malaysia. You’ll only be allowed to make transfers that involve MYR. This means that:

If you are sending MYR from your account, you can send any currency to your recipient.
If you are sending a currency that is not MYR from your account, you can only send MYR to your recipient.
This change won’t affect international transfers. If you are transferring to a recipient account that is not in Malaysia, you can send from or to any currency — there are no limitations.

------------------------------------

Email notification from Wise previously.

Could this be the reason ?

This is why I want to know more about RHB's multi currency card. Like, how does it compares to Wise for conversion rates and fees?
*
It depends on what currency you want to convert. A snapshot for your reference (~ 9:30am)

RHB MCA :

MYR4525 --> USD1000 (all inclusive)

Forex rate gets refreshed every 5-10min

There is a RM20 annual fee for the debit card

$$ in your call account gets to earn daily interest, accrued by end of the month.

https://www.rhbgroup.com/treasury-rates/mul...card/index.html (indicative)

Wise :

MYR4534.66 --> USD1000 (all inclusive)

I use this to decide on which card for payment in foreign currency. Not for fund transfer ..

BTW, I am NOT affiliated with RHB or Wise, just happen to own both cards .. biggrin.gif

So RHB MCA can help to
receive USD fund from IBKR, then keep as USD and transfer to TD Ameritrade in USD ya... ?
*
You can transfer USD between IBKR and TDA using the broker's receiving bank information.

If you decide to go with the RHB MCA route, there are typically correspondent bank charges incurred, in addition to RHB zero inward & USD10 outward FTT.

RHB outward FTT can only be done at the branch, if no MYR-USD Forex involved.

i am not sure is the ACAT option available for me to choose ...
i am thinking to explore the wire transfer, to put as another broker receiving bank information ...
*
TDA SG -> IBKR Wire Transfer was FOC, transaction done last year.

You can check if the same is true for IBKR -> TDA US/TDA SG

This is a good rate. How do you check this special counter rate?
*
The forex rate at https://www.rhbgroup.com/treasury-rates/mul...card/index.html isn't real time.

You need to hold MCA account with VISA debit card to get this special "Counter" rate. The term "Counter" is somewhat confusing ...

Login to RHB online account/mobile app to initiate a buy/sell transaction (you can cancel transaction half-way through) to see the latest rate, which only get refreshed every few minutes.

Ohh.. RHB can do transaction at the counter? If that so, I've to open bank account with them, right?

Thanks

MYR <--> Foreign currency exchange can be done online with RHB MCA. Remember to ask for MCA Visa debit card to get better forex rates.
