All develop based on their own regions and local customs/cultures. That's why we have some Malay words in our Chinese languages, e.g., "mata" = police In fact, I speak Canto-lish (Canto-English) most of the time, especially with my old man in serious conversation LOL.
If u watch the previous vid that I posted, you can clearly see the slight differences of HK Canto and Guangdong Canto.
HK Canto - 飲品 VS Guangdong Canto - 飲料
The object is different despite referring to the same thing.
If you want high class Malaysian Canto aka proper Canto, u got to watch/listen radio, TV and other programs. Well you see, everyone has different education background!

Penang Hokkien, TW Hokkien, Fujian Hokkien. They are like 99% same, except some slangs and whatnot. There are some vids about that on Youtube.

So when you balik malatsia Ecentho all sprka hokkien it differs from one another
Yhetefote when you liste Ln to penang and johor hokkien, it sounds like 2 different dialect Just like the malay Despite being in same country. Tell seremban to speak to kelate, it spike speaking Dutch to an English man and hope the German understands it
Work in HK b4 during project, my Cantonese is quite ok lah but used to KL style.. Just recalled several words used:-
La La (seafood) =Hin.. Photocopy = Yeng Yan.. Not fok yan.
Also HK accent they would stress on tone, like singing song. Msian Cantonese accent is rather flat.. Too much influence from BM, no tone. Also the way they pronounce English words is slightly different n the context they slot in English word is when no Cantonese word can describe better. Unlike Msian Canto, suka2 slot in English word like rojak especially Msian English ed speaker.
If u r Sharp enough, no matter how hard local DJ speak/copy Cantonese HK slang, u can tell the difference just from intonation. Unless they had worked in HK for at least few years.
It is normal in lanuguage to be not exacly the same in different regions. Even Cantonese in Ipoh is slightly different with KL. We have British English, American English or Australian English. Swiss German almost cannot be understood by Northen Germans.
