I bought Have Fun in Fukui pass during last Dec trip.
*
The validity is 270 days from date of purchase or the date that you selected when buying at Klook? There are 2 versions, same price. One free cancellation but need to specify date. One no cancellation but no need to specify date.

The validity for the ticket was 2 months when I bought with specific date. I made the purchase in Fukui on 27th Dec with specific date 28th Dec. The ticket I received valid from 27th Dec until 2nd March.

not in japan, but i used Trip.com in China to engage a taxi driver at the airport to fetch me to the hotel at midnight with a waiting service.

The taxi driver waited for me at the arrival hall with my name on the placard (something like that). The flight arrived late about 30 mins yet the driver is still waiting there.

How does the system actually work? Do taxi drivers in Japan use their own cars or are they operating official taxi vehicles? Is there a special app that allows you to communicate directly with the driver? And how do they know your exact arrival time?
Japan is supposed to be safer, right? I’m planning to visit next month with my husband and our daughter, so I’d love to understand how the transport system works and what to expect.

Japan E-hailing only allow to Taxi. It only feel like online calling Taxi. All using App calling taxi will be surcharge extra 500 Yen. Uber / Go Taxi App is like your Grab...once you calling taxi, you will know the taxi car number plate and driver name. You also can message him. You better call when you at airport outside. You dont "stupid" like alot Malaysian start booking taxi when you start debording aircraft, no even clear custom & collect luggage...Japan taxi once you booked it, it reach pick up zone, meter start ticking....you will end up 20000-30000 Yen biggrin.gif

Oh Yes...Grab / Uber wil let you know destination price...Japan no..it just call Taxi app..so it wont show you the price from airport to your destination final
price.

2200 - 0500 will be 20% extra Surcharge.

Passenger pay for the Express way Toll Fare.

So....after 10pm, you at Haneda Airport call taxi service to Tokyo City. It will be [Taxi Fare + Midnight Charges 20% based on Fare + Calling fare (500) + Express way Toll fare]

Another is go DARK WAY devil.gif
Those from Trip / Klook can booked Airport to City transport using Alhard...99% drive will be Chinese. Nagative is alot no showed driver.
you bear the risk .

Anyone self drive when travel in Japan?
I am traveling with baby stroller.. taking public transport find bit hassle

Depends where you intend to drive. If big cities, you probably stress more trying to plan for the parking spots and costs.

Using strollers in Japan generally ok la. probably just avoid during office rush hours and you will be fine

which part of JP? rural vs big city Osaka/Tokyo very diff.
if rural then self drive no probs..Tokyo drive w/ stroller vs public transport w/ stroller, I would go for public transport and not travel during rush hour time.

the only thing that's a hassle with stroller is looking for lift whether in station/building exit.

Yes. You need a car to get to Nara and Kyoto. I would suggest 2- 3 days to do Nara and Kyoto. Day trip seems a bit rush.

I have used Toyota Car Rental, Times, Nissan Car rental before. Or you could go through sites like Tabirai or Tocoo. Remember your IDP though. Its a must.

have u bought the JR pass from the official website? It said u can reserve online in advance from overseas. I want to know if this is true.

What i know is i bought the JR pass previously from an agency (Travel Recommends), so no way to reserve online in advance.

But still, you must pick up the physical card from the JR office in Japan. And the queue can be long depending on which office u go to. I always find the branch office with the less queue.

if you activate on 31/10, it depends on the number of days you bought, if 14 days, then u can still use on 9 November.

Hi sorry have been travelling and didn't check in to LYN. Yes, you can book everything in advance and select seats. You can also cancel on the website and rebook as long as you didn't print your physical tickets yet. I went to the JR office and twice they told me "website only".

It's much easier to pick up your reserved tickets at the kiosk. English menu is available so its a matter of just following the instructions.

Yes, activation for 10 day pass on 31st means it ends 9th.

Just Tokyo, nowhere else. Went last year 5d4n, didn't even see half of Tokyo. This time want to see every nook and cranny in Tokyo, and maybe a bit of Yokohama also.
