I guess it will be the same in most tourists destinations. No massive crowds, no long open queues and ultimately less attractions opened, less night markets etc.. It will never be the same again. We will see.

Robot Restaurant in Shinjuku? No I didn't go in when I saw the entry fees was like 7000 to 8000 yen which to me is like a tourist trap.  sweat.gif

Not sure if their local tourism will keep those business to stay afloat (not making money but cukup makan) or not.

And i think they would love to open up their market to PRC tourists since they are like contributed biggest chunk of arrivals.

Yes that one in Shinjuku, keep seeing the ads & tour guide book mentioning it.

Its like they spend chuck of marketing budget onto foreigner tourists.

For me i rather spend my money on museums that are scattered around the town (eg that few museum around Ueno park)

At one point i wanted to buy hahaha but luckily checked the online reviews & video. They aren't very good shakehead.gif decided to save my money instead. Might as well get Nakiryu Tan Tan Men or Tsuta's instant ramen (or is it soba).

That's where part of the 8000 yen goes to. laugh.gif Even though the PRC economy is fully opened up, I'm not sure if the they are allowed to easily leave their countries for holidays abroad.

I highly doubt so. Looking at the infection rates, we should be looking forward to 2023 instead.

Ichiran instant ramen is no where near the real thing haha but as an instant noodles, it's ok lah.

I think I prefer Nakiryu and Tsuta, had them in Osaka just before the pandemic sweat.gif

I had mine ramen fix in Fukuoka Airport Dom terminal where they have Ramen street which i think it is better than Ichiran

Not sure if it is the best (pricing is higher) but at least there are various vendor on that floor instead going to individual spot on the street.

Nearly try my luck with the yatai stores along the river but felt the pricing is not justifiable.

How about you guys, what your experience there.

For me personally:
- it tastes like an authentic bowl of tantan men from restaurant (doesn't feel like it came from an instant pack!)
- very flavourful (sour, salty, sweet, spicy - you name it all)

If you like food with strong taste, this is for you nod.gif I thoroughly enjoyed the noodles, but next aiming to try the Tsuta soba cup noodle...!

That's what most of the reviews say - the instant noodle isn't even half as good! Apparently noodle was little as well, pretty plain too. Taste was also pretty off from the real thing.

Oh wow, so lucky that you got to try both Nakiryu and Tsuta. Tempted to try Tsuta in my last trip @ Tokyo but was dreading the queue and we were a big group - thus decided to give up cry.gif ...was in Singapore for a short work trip before pandemic, and I saw Tsuta there too. But then it was empty and quiet. Friends told me it was just alright, thus didn't go in.

Ohmy, same seller biggrin.gif they ship from Japan. So exciting to see the parcel arrive! Enjoy and share your review afterwards.

Maybe can check if you get [Wholesale price] by ordering 2 items (or exceeding certain amount ). I recently ordered the Tsuta instant noodle - they sell RM44+ for 1, but price changed to RM30+ when I clicked 2, not to mention there's store voucher of RM10 to apply on the order. Happy shopping thumbsup.gif

Hahaha not sure if you're referring to the cup noodle or the actual restaurant. Can't comment about the restaurants 'coz never been there, but hey, at least it's "affordable" Michelin star food - worthy of trying.

No chance to try Tomita Ramen yet. But its nice to see Tsuta featured in the documentary as well.

Since this thread is about Japan & travel it is sad to see Ace bags closed their shop in Malaysia for good due to current situation

Personally used "Proteca" hand luggage bag since the price here is quite good compared to buying in Japan (even if it is made in Japan)

yes agree. the local ramen shops are way more delicious and each have their own version of broth.

Is like Penang Air Itam Asam Laksa
Local won't go, 99% customers are non Penang.

You will saw Japanese inside restraurant but it was from other cities which came to Tokyo for travelling.

While I was in Fukuoka, best ramen i guess is Hakata Issou, its not very well known to tourists but it got a recommend from matcha-jp. Went there for dinner and really its a small corner lot shop. Had to wait for a place with my family but it was about 10 mins b4 we got a table. All patrons there were locals except for us, i guess the best ones would be those tucked away places that locals would go for.
