Heck even the Robot Restaurant (I'm not a fan of it) also closed down. I remember it was promoted heavy toward tourist (Omotenashi travel guide for example) & locals are not really into it.
Haha I went once and I think it was easily >75% tourists. I quite liked it actually cos of the ridiculous over-the-top-ness but I can completely understand that many others would find it waste of time and money.
While I was in Fukuoka, best ramen i guess is Hakata Issou, its not very well known to tourists but it got a recommend from matcha-jp. Went there for dinner and really its a small corner lot shop. Had to wait for a place with my family but it was about 10 mins b4 we got a table. All patrons there were locals except for us, i guess the best ones would be those tucked away places that locals would go for.
tried - Ganso Nagahamaya before? The place the locals go.
I've not tried Hakata Issou before have to do it next haha but we went Fukuoka purpose to have ippudo & ichiran and Ganso in 24 hours time haha.

While there I tried Ichiran, Ippudo, Hakata Issou, and a nondescript side shop. Heard about Ganso but it was way out of my visiting spots and I got way too many ramen on my plate (haha!) that time to try others so I went for the branded ones and a local favourite. Branded ones are unique but overhyped as most brands are.
how about the ski resorts? any good ones for beginners?
I've never been to Hokkaido cos ski'ing there is expensive. IMO if you think you'll ski more in the future, I would say bite the bullet and pay for 3 or 4 days group ski school to get the basics and right technique dialed in. My last trip I went to myoko kogen (akakura onsen) cos [1] reasonably cheap, and [2] got angmoh-run ski school there so got group ski school for many different levels. After 4 days my wife from beginner can follow me down red (intermediate) slopes, and I honed my technique enough to go down groomed blacks (advanced).
RegentCid share also no use, omicron come and cannot go JP for holiday at least until 2023 liao and that’s assuming no more new variants … if got then bye bye 2023 also 😂

You need to take a covid test before you come back , right ? Also apply to quarantine at home ?
Need to do RT-PCR Test within 3 days before departing.
Once reach Malaysia had to do one more RT-PCR test at KLIA.
7 Days self quarantine must do 2 time RT-PCR test on Lab / Hospital on Day 3 and Day 7. Day 2, 4, 5, 6 had to do self test covid-19 test kit which can get from 99 Speedmart.
All result had to upload into My Sejahtera
