I won't travel oversea during this period of time. To be a responsible Malaysia citizen, I won't want to fly oversea and facing the possibility of infected with COVID-19 and back to Malaysia, it will basically start another wave of local transmission. Life is short doesn't mean you need to take risk over this. If got infected when you return from oversea, it will risk the life of your family, relative, friends and colleagues.

I believe as long as there is no vaccine, any oversea travel will have to be apply with 14 days of quarantine upon return to Malaysia.

I also supporting domestic travel as long as not huge outbreak within Malaysia.

Fortunately, we are living in a democratic country.
Those who want to travel will be given the opportunity.

Those who want to stay safe can continue to do so.

Ichiran, Tsuta & Nakiryu are all so-so. Jamie Oliver style of Ramen. Tipu tourist money.

This my review for this 3 restraurant
*
What about Nagahama Ramen? Japanese friend wanted to bring me here but time was short on my last trip.

well their volume game is quite low. can't cope with demand. the stupid travel visa not helping. Japan on the other hand is very accessible for most of the world.
*
Actually, I anticipate there will be crazy demand for Japan when the border opens. Lots of people I've spoken to said they want to travel to Japan when border opens.

Also you have 49% of Singaporeans that are ready to travel to Japan with their powerful SGD: https://mothership.sg/2022/08/japan-singapo...el-destination/

*
Is there any charge for withdrawal?

I read online some say 7-11/seven bank no fee, some say have. A bit confused.

Yes, my experience was when I added it, the initial top up has only apple pay payment. Used it straight away at and it works. Going to try top it up with cash at the station later.
*
What if there's remaining balance? Can refund back similar to Octopus HK card?

yes
just don't topup more than needed.

AFAIK there is no minimum topup on iPhone Suica. I once topup 30yen just to get the exact balance for my last train fare in Japan

QUOTE(RegentCid @ Oct 7 2024, 01:54 PM)
No Expired Date, but if you not using more than 6 month, it will automatic deactived. You need to Japan ticket counter to kick start again.
Balance inside Apple Suica cannot be refund.

Thanks. Will be mindful with the reload amount. smile.gif

I have a flight that will land in Tokyo at 12.10pm (Domestic). My next flight is at 7pm (International and check-in luggage required).

Is there enough time to take a stroll to Narita town and eat Unagi? What you guys think?

Way more than enough. Bus from Narita to Tokyo City appox 90 minute. If you want fastest, can take Mini Shinkansen (Skyliner) to Ueno 40 minute.
I got few nice & cheap Unagi pocket list. You can try but it taste sure can't beat those 10k Yen above Unagi restraurant lah....but still very good.

Unatoto Asakusa 名代 宇奈とと 浅草店

My Personal Pocket list:
Kabuto かぶと  (Splurge)
Izumo Ikebukuro (Economy)
Both also my favorite, I spend more time on Izumo, one of my usual dinner spot before heading back home.

If you don't want take a Risk. Inside Narita Airport also got Kawatoyo branch. Kawatoyo are the Best Unagi restraurant in Narita area.

Thank you for sharing your list. I really appreciate it! smile.gif

Damn facebook keep showing memories of my trip last now and now itching to go back again. Thinking to bring my parents to Hokkaido next year covering Sapporo/Otaru/Hakodate and maybe to nearby locations. I wonder if this is a good idea considering they are elderly and Hokkaido has lack of public transportation (?) compared to other cities. No specific month yet, if not snowy may consider to rent a car.

Any recommendation for direct flight KUL to CTS?
*
Might want to avoid winter as elderly can't stand the cold. Plus buses don't run so frequently during the winter.
Rent a car if you have more than 3 pax. Sapporo/Susukino can rely on train network. Any other adventure just rent car. More convenient.

Direct flight to CTS not many. I see AirAsia X fly there but not consistent.
Best is layover at HK or Shenzhen.

Just back from my Japan 7 days trip. Went to Seven ATM to withdraw via Wise card, got charged 220 yen for a 90k yen withdrawal.

Japan changed a lot. Now they start embracing digital payments.

End up use only 2k yen, rest is via PayPay Touch N Go and Apple Suica card. laugh.gif
The 2k yen also because some ramen shop in Asahikawa Ramen Alley didn't accept any of it and only cash. Turns out also my worst food in Japan. Very touristy area. Should skip XHS recommendations next time.

Also most eSIM sold in Trip.com rubbish. Can't even exceed 5Mbps.
Only the Japan eSIM Softbank in trip.com line works best. Can go 300Mbps+ brows.gif

Old traditional restraurant still very stubborn. Cash only. If you used Google Map to search restraurant, mostly will be cashless but if you used tabelog to search 4star above restraurant, mostly still cash only.  biggrin.gif
*
I see. Hope Japan can be really cashless one day similar to China. I hate carrying their coins.

Also nowadays can't eat and drink at convenience store anymore (although purchased from them)?
