Bad news, JR pass going to increase price by October, almost 65% up, crazy. Other JR passes will follow?

FYI Wise card update, most of the dept/convenience stores like Odakyu, Solamachi, etc accepts cards. I didn’t do any withdrawal yet after the airport since only use cash for Suica topup and some shops

It’s only those roadside/under tunnel shops with 5-6 seats accept only cash so far, or Tsukiji market (“water fish” market)… this is for Tokyo, will update again when I reach the smaller cities

Currently It only price increase on JR Rail Pass. based on JR CEO, he wanted people used more on other regional Pass.

Food also cincai eat only… but can confirm restaurants with lots of angmo usually no good laugh.gif

Not sure got any watch lovers here, Seiko store at makuhari mitsui outlet have the 3 gold hand black urushi dial at ¥77000 pre tax, very good deal actually as it retails above ¥100000

Transport/IC card topup/purchase is only cash via machine

Any shop/still which accepts the Visa brand will accept wise card. I’ve tried Lawson, Familiy mart, some restaurants and dept stores, so far so good

Went to Kyoto, Kanazawa, Shirakawago and Takayama and Nagoya for 10days using hokuriku rail pass.
Utilised for Kyoto to Kanazawa thunderbird jr line
Nohi bus for 1 day trip to shirakawago from kanazawa station. Have to buy earlier even though i bought the day after tomorrow the bus was full. 1 day trip will do nth much there. Spent 5-6hrs. Then to takayama via nohi bus
Coincidentally it was matsuri festival no wonder the hotel was limited and very expensive on 14april. Stayed 1 night only at Takayama but enjoyed strolling those souvenirs shop near jinya mae temple and also Funasaka sake for 100yen vending machine. Tried hida beef ajikura
Took hida limited express from takayama to nagoya with the pass, very beautiful view throughout the journey. Felt that 2 hours plus with this train was too short. Dinner had eel rice at ESCA
It was raining at Nagoya hence indoor shopping at osu kannon which famous for second hand stores.
Had their miso katsu forgot the name but theres huge pig statue infront shop near osu street.

How do you depart from Nagoya? I am on the same itinerary as you, minus Nagoya.

Wanna ask how much do people generally spend in a one week Japan trip?
Is RM10K including flight ticket sufficient?

Really hard to answer this as it differs from spending habit. For a moderate tourist, I would say 10k is more than sufficient.
