The concept art from the newspaper, the steering looks so nice. But the real car steering looks so lousy.

QUOTE(peYno @ Aug 17 2007, 06:29 AM) some(esp kampung ppl) think perodua is "national car maker" manage the company and car designed by malaysian... they never heard about passo, mira or move Or maybe they choose not to hear... QUOTE(omnimech @ Aug 17 2007, 09:59 AM) Basically the cost of the Pesona and The Vios or city is the same . Plus there was no development for tat car, all they did was extend an existing model . How do they justify it being 55k ? He said, what can you expect from a 55k car ? You can expect way more then the kind of crap Proton comes out with. If there was no development for the Persona, how did Proton manage to make it longer??? Pull an ordinary Gen2 using 2 lorries??? Id rather see perodua bring in more Jap cars at an affordable price rather then see Proton piss poor quality and cars. Yes I do know Perodua brings in Malaysian version of cars such as the Mira and such, but at least those cars are reasonable and worth buying. If the gov didnt tax other cars, Alot of cars would be way affordable when compared to the proton cars. Call me a retard or whatever, I tink ppl who waste that 50 over k on a Proton are not stupid but just a lack of choice and money. What car do I drive ? I drive a city, never have any regrets = ) . Perodua brings in Malaysian version of cars??? U actually think Perodua cars are CBU frm Japan??? Do you knw Perodua assembles cars in Malaysia based on the blueprint Daihatsu give it??? QUOTE(Twinchest @ Aug 17 2007, 11:21 AM) Went and see proton at carrefour Alamanda. Not bad design la. For big family i think proton offer better comfort than perodua's. Mind ya, i'm a perodua user as well as Audi User, and definitely if you guys has big family, proton can be considered. Don't always bash proton or perodua cause BOTH carries "Malaysia". Don't care la if they are part japanese or what, as long as it's announced by government as a Malaysian car, be proud of it. If always bash, u will not see anything related to malaysia anymore. Then why stay at the country? Think before bashing people... be sensible, be sensitive to surrounding. See what happen to that Negarakuku guy... Become kuku already! This I cannot accept...Coz if it's juz a rebadge, like what Naza did on the Carnival when they 1st rebadge it into the Ria... There's nth to be proud of! Or u mean we should be proud that the Naza guy is so clever that he managed to convince the Koreans to allow his company to rebadge their cars??? QUOTE(dstl1128 @ Aug 17 2007, 02:54 PM) The concept art from the newspaper, the steering looks so nice. But the real car steering looks so lousy. The 1st drawing too!Way superb!!! If they produce that, I think it can even rival Civic or Lancer based on the looks!!! QUOTE(CooShyRee @ Aug 17 2007, 03:08 PM) thats coz its juz the normal gen2 steering, in which majority of people here hates.. it looks so cheapo n ugly, kinda like the steering wheel on one of those arcade race car game machines.. i expecially hate those really cheap looking radio control buttons on the steering wheels Yeah...they should have used the Neo's steering instead...wish that theyve used some better design for the steering.. Or better, use the Waja's... |

Went to their showroom yesterday nite with my bro.
Before I went there I was pretty immpressed with the pics I saw from paultan and from this topic. But when you step into the car....sheesh! It feels so damn alike the Gen2. But taking nothing away from the Persona, it is indeed a better car, looks-wise. Gen2 always seems a little wierd and misproportioned and its lines all messed up. But Persona has been redesigned and the car looks pretty sleek. Two It should be the best car for Proton so far. But like some of you might've mentioned, HL should have come with leather seats instead of fabric. Prolly, it's a budget car, that's why it's speced with budget trimmmings... |

In terms of marketing image, I don't think Persona really needs leather interior. That will only increase its production cost. And since it's kinda low end, the final price will only invite more Proton bashing.
Leather interior could be more appropriate for a high end trim Waja or Chancelor(sp?). |

I don't think the steering is cheap, maybe because I know it cost only RM55k to get this car.

QUOTE(peYno @ Aug 17 2007, 05:36 PM) Btw some of these downgraded japs cars is better than proton in terms of quality control (defects of proton will never reach the likes of CKD versions of Honda and Toyota) and i cant deny that. |
