Just being curious - if there are no unreasonable taxes on foreign cars, City and Vios and Persona at 55K, which would you buy?

and petrol at RM 3.50 per litre.....
and it will fluctuate according to market trend....


so cheaper car and then bash the gov for removing the subsidy ?

then back to the concept, u use the car more, u pay more for petrol ... logic right ?

1 thing good about proton and perodua..spare parts all around,i think most shops know how to repair them..if u maintain it good enuf it's still a good car..
if i drive a freaking expensive imported car..if car cannot start not all mechanics can fix it..proton?just go nearby everything settle..
I like german cars..but not many can afford and p1 & p2 made it possible for many to own a car..

serious speaking i test drive city and waja b4 getting car..in the end i get waja..city to me the handling not so syok(no offense to city owners)

got a peep on tht persona yesterday when i went tesco, haha, the salesman didn't disappoint me : lebih kurang sama la, TAPI booth sudah lain, mari tengok, sekarang sangat spacious, buka juga senang, tutup lagi senang, u cuba tengok....

then my attention went to the Chevy Estate park beside, 2006 model price drop from 90k+ to 60K+....more tempting la...

The thing is, whenever those who drive imported cars have problem... they don't hu-ha-hu-ha here and there, just keep to themselve. Malu if ppl know, buy so expensive import car also got problem.

If Proton, got very little problem like rim not nice (which is not a problem) also want to complain and tell to everyone. Even those who don't drive one also busy body.

actually they did complain but not in lyn f and f ...

u can check in vios and altis forum ... also got defects ... power window did spoilt ...

but if u say those luxury car, i think those owner more concern to their business rather then the car...anything just send to sc and fix it ...

Actually not really.
I myself driving a continental car. Not to say I bash proton just because its local made. IMO
I just hate the way government protect Proton and Mas, etc. If trully a car manufacturer is to stand on their own, the government must practise open market policy where the only way to survive is to be the best and improve themselves. They must improve by being better than other car make if not they'll die in open market. The government must detact themselves from their affiliates retail partner.

What irks me is to think Proton couldn't really be bothered probably due to the mindset that even if things goes wrong, they still have their grandfather protecting their sorry ass with money. Afaik, where's the urgency to be the best of the best? FYI there ppl who work in Proton actually work like gohmen department ppl, slow and lazy.
Let the gomen protect them, lets see how long they can protect and drain the rakyat money for nothing.

Just found out the boot lid has soundproof mat - Proton is being generous..A saloon is still quieter than the hatchback, road noise from the rear tyres can be isolated completely.

actually all cars no matter branded or not, expensive or not, CBU or CKD, all have chances to encounter pre-mature defects...

i dun mind sharing unpleasant stuff from my ride... just that mine is comparatively rare... share oso nobody interested...

And also due to typical Malaysian mindset, they refuse to believe that Proton is trying to improve themself and still fully rely on government's help. We are not inside the company, we are outside, so we don't know what they actually have in plan except for making negative assumptions, which is also due to the typical mindset.

Dude you don't need to assume, dollar and sense can tell you whats going on. Besides I know people who work in there.

true ehough there ARE people who tried to improve things but upper management is all about politics. Look at UMNO's mindset then think about Proton, go figure. They are blardy replicating the desease of corruption over in proton.

Went and see proton at carrefour Alamanda. Not bad design la. For big family i think proton offer better comfort than perodua's. Mind ya, i'm a perodua user as well as Audi User, and definitely if you guys has big family, proton can be considered. Don't always bash proton or perodua cause BOTH carries "Malaysia". Don't care la if they are part japanese or what, as long as it's announced by government as a Malaysian car, be proud of it. If always bash, u will not see anything related to malaysia anymore. Then why stay at the country? Think before bashing people... be sensible, be sensitive to surrounding. See what happen to that Negarakuku guy... Become kuku already!
