i am utterly amazed at what you just wrote. japanese cars are expensive in malaysia only because the government artificially inflates their prices and distort the domestic market with exorbitant taxes. if proton is really so capable, why does it still need the governments protection after 20 years?? vios and city should only cost RM55k+ without the duties.
i know proton are trying to recover, and they deserve their due credit for wanting to finally buckle up and improve, to cater to what the customer wants. but quite frankly, they should have realised this long ago instead of this current desperation act. if they really want to show their capabilities, let the government open up the car market in malaysia and see them compete with other brands fair and square. a company will never strive to improve if there is no competition. equip their cars with better mandatory safety features (all their export models come standard with ABS and airbags, why cant they do the same for us? are malaysian lives really less precious than foreigners??).
please. study the facts first and be rationale before stating your opinions. dun be so ignorant to whats happening here. the rakyat deserves much more after two decades of blood-sucking. it is our hard-earned money after all.
PS: sorry for being OT.
perhaps you are ignorant or its just that you didnt get what i'm trying to say.. In which part did i say that Proton isn't protected by the government? will talking about inflated prices and taxes get you anything other than personal satisfaction? i just said that in reality we have no choice BUT to buy Proton cars...
what facts must i study or which part of my rationale is wrong?
perhaps the ignoramus person is you. i just said that some people bash proton for things no reason. please understand my point of view and the context that i'm writing in.
your arguments are both vapid, used and abused and i cant say i dont agree... its just not going to change anything aint it?

Basically the cost of the Pesona and The Vios or city is the same . Plus there was no development for tat car, all they did was extend an existing model . How do they justify it being 55k ? He said, what can you expect from a 55k car ? You can expect way more then the kind of crap Proton comes out with.
Id rather see perodua bring in more Jap cars at an affordable price rather then see Proton piss poor quality and cars. Yes I do know Perodua brings in Malaysian version of cars such as the Mira and such, but at least those cars are reasonable and worth buying.
If the gov didnt tax other cars, Alot of cars would be way affordable when compared to the proton cars.
Call me a retard or whatever, I tink ppl who waste that 50 over k on a Proton are not stupid but just a lack of choice and money.
What car do I drive ? I drive a city, never have any regrets = ) .
i understand the the lack of quality from Proton in many aspects
like i said earlier....truth is not everybody can afford a City or a vios
the price difference between such cars and Proton cars might be up to 20k to 30 k. Thats a lot of money. Its true that Perodua is really doing great by adding a great car into the mix when deciding to buy a new car
the thing is that many people here have Proton cars and since some might prefer sedan cars like Persona ....what choice do they have? and especially when the alternatives are so much more expensive
the last thing a new buyer would want to hear is people bashing the car for all its worth.
