Yeah. Buying the 11-inch. With new keyboard and trackpad, it will work better as a laptop replacement than before.

Apple is going way high end here with the new iPad Pros. The 12.9 inch model starts at the same price with the new MacBook Air, but it’s 128GB vs 256GB on the MBA.

Once you add in the Pencil and the insanely expensive Magic Keyboard, it will be the price of the MBP, but again it’s 128GB vs 256GB.

You have to be really sure of what you need when you buy this iPad Pro. If it’s gonna be your main computer, are you sure the MBA or the upcoming 14 inch MBP won’t be better for day-to-day productivity? If it’s gonna be your supplemental device to your main machine, are you sure the iPad Air/regular iPad can’t do the same job?

Valid points. But I think that's just where the trend is headed. A 8/128 Surface Pro X with the keyboard and pen will also cost RM5.3k. For that amount of money, I'd get a MBP too

Guys, I;m glad Apple didn't jack the price on the account of malaysia ringgit that been plunged to shiet in light or coronavirus. This is a very good price. no need to worry about getting it oversea, local is the cheapest now.

Ya, it can be argued that with iPadOS, the iPad is now more versatile, but I'm not sure if it is a complete replacement for a laptop just yet. Either way, as JerryRig would say, it's definitely a step in the right direction.

A good 3rd party keyboard case will probably costs about RM300-RM400, a non-keyboard one probably RM150 or so. Asking RM1000 and above for a keyboard case is pushing it for me

It’s indeed cheaper than hk. I just compared this morning, was thinking to wait for local set or Malaysian set. Malaysia is indeed one of the cheapest country to purchase a iOS devices few years back. But price was shot up in recent years.

Aesthetic wise totally the same as 2018 besides the rear camera...so if you’re using one then almost no reason to upgrade..

It’s never meant to be a large screen phone, although arguably when it was first launched it did feel like just a big a$$ iPhone back then. Same here. I like that the base storage is now doubled, 128GB seems more reasonable. The one thing I don't like is that I think this iPad Pro will be every bit as fragile as the last one and will bend easily with pressure!

bought the 2018 ipad pro 3 weeks ago with apple pencil.... my intention is to go paperless and be a bit creative....

surely paperless for the last 3 weeks... everyday go to management meeting and no need to bring that diary planner... and the note I took down is more easily accessible and neatly arranged... bought Brydge keyboard but end up not using it at all...

2020 ipad? hmmm it is ok ... the one i have now is a lot of fun to use for the next few years...

I bought the 3rd gen 12.9” 64gb for entertainment and for light works like emails and presentations..after a year using now I’m down to 42gb left, so I’m good with 64gb.

Durability wise I’m ok, not even using super UAG or otter, just normal rm160 casing and no bent and etc to date...

Very tempted to get one, now cannot decide between the Wifi or Cellular version

I will keep my current iPad Pro 12.9 3rd Gen but probably will buy the keyboard. Currently I’m using Non Branded keyboard that have RGB Keys 😁 and its working Fine for my daily work.

mind sharing why spending more on cellular is worth it? in terms of daily use example

most places i would use an ipad would have wifi; and if not, would hotspot from my phone. also saves paying additional monthly simcard data.

Cellular bro, having connectivity on the fly is really a convenience!

convenience is the main reason i suppose, i like the redundancy.
I'll always go for lte models myself. If you do, reconnecting to the iPhone every single time it goes into power saving mode is a major annoyance that's well worth avoiding for an extra bucks.
This has proven beneficial with the mini as it makes the iPad truly portable and standalone, without having to tether or beg for wifi.
Now, having said that, obviously if you never take your iPad outside, then just stick with the wifi version. Also if you treat the iPad like a laptop (very few laptops have cellular modem), then just get the wifi version and tether as needed.
Buy what you need.

I wished new Macbooks got CELLULAR MODEM built in.

Coupled with Unifi mobile unlimited data quota, it’s the perfect working machine when travelling.

Is cellular on Apple Watch worthwhile? I decide to go with non-cellular version just to conserve battery.

I had an iPad Pro with cellular but almost never used the cellular before.
Then upgraded to a newer iPad Pro with larger storage but forgo cellular this time.

Yeah, that's why I've been eyeing maxis' iPad plans - RM18 for 5GB per month...but to sign up for that must buy iPad from them!

I use it for outdoor runs and gym. Literally tossed my phone aside and just rely on my watch for music and workout tracking.

Battery life enough to survive until end of the day with <10% left.

Actually I dont understand why our local telcos cannot just link to our existing plan instead of a new plan for your iDevices.

They used to have that multi-SIM thingy, but yeah, I agree, they should allow seamless integration of our mobile plan across all our devices.

According to some rumours and youtubers there’s a new iPad Pro coming on 4th quarter 2020 with upgraded screen, new cpu and 5G.

Doubt they will refresh it so soon after taking 16 months for this upgrade. Unless 5G really takes off by then which I doubt so.

Most of the apple youtubers telling theres another iPad pro upgrade around November with mini LED, A14X chip and 5G model, will just wait and see.

It has been an ongoing rumour that Apple will release new iPads and MacBooks with mini-LED display starting from end of this year.
I guess they won’t be replacing the current LCD models, but to be sold at a higher price (similar to iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro).

I guess we'll have to wait and see. Most manufacturing and supply chains of tech companies have been badly affected by Covid-19. I wouldn't be surprised if there will be far less new gadgets released this year.

Mind to share which store? Looks like a12z isn’t any better compare to a12x and I certainly don’t care about the camera.

I tried to connect my Apple Magic Mouse 1 to the new iPadOS 13.4. It works but not 100%...I can't scroll or swipe left right on to the next page on my home screen...Looks like it only support Magic Mouse 2. Too bad...

I tried Huawei mouse and yeah cant scroll or swipe left right, even up and down, need to use the scroll button to scroll up and down

been searching for discounted/2nd hand 2018 ipad pro models since this 2020 model came out. and thought could save some money since don't need these new features.

most selling 64gb for around rm3000 range; and 256gb rm4000 (cheapest i found rm3500). might as well get the new one. not worth saving few hundred for old and even 2nd hand.

Yup, same here. The good thing about the 2020 one is that the base storage is now 128GB, so that’s probably a nice balance between 64 which could be too little and 256 which could be overkill.
