Good ipad #6 - the Files App is really good as it can list all the drives that I use - iCloud, Good Drive, on device, NAS etc. I can easily work with phone and sync w ipad.

iPad Bad #6 - Can’t see shared folders in Files App, and in Google Drive App, can’t see the directory side bar.

New learning everyday. Luckily I still have a very old laptop on Windows as backup and double references.

I can see the limitation of the iPad OS and I do find certain things limited too however, it is also really unfair to compare iPad OS to a full fledge desktop operating system where one is a lot of familiar than just 3 days on the iPad OS.

Also I highlighted that because, the difference between us is that we spent our money on it as compared to we tried another person’s.

The difference can be that one wants to work with the iPad OS and the other wants to compare with Mac OS.

Nothing wrong with either and emotionally, our propensities are mostly tied to our cash. What is unequivocal is that Mac OS is definitely more powerful but iPad OS is well optimised for its limited usage, not Mac OS powerful but sufficient for some of us.

Believe it or not I had not been using Mac OS for days now and would only switch to the MBA when my iPad runs out of battery(I don’t bring the charger to the office).

I’ve been loving iPad OS a lot more because I’ve gotten used to the gestures and is able to switch from one app to another, multitask, with the utilisation of the slide over very quickly and am no longer used to the touch pad functions of the Mac OS. If anything I find Mac OS a lot more complicated to learn everything and iPad OS a lot simpler and tidier, love the split screen especially.

My view is obviously slanted towards iPad OS, it is not cheap haha

Well said, and that’s one thing I learn from watching so many youtube reviews, and filter those who are actually using those devices on the long terms and like with 3 or 6 months review.
It’s one things to learn all the features at one go and it’s another to really live with it as sole device approach. There’s few one good that solely uses ipad as their main device

So true, same here.
For heavy work on MS Excel, Powerpoint etc and multitasking with other apps (multiple monitors), MacOS wins.
IpadOS is great for note taking,  media, email and single focus app usage.

That being said, ipad + macbook make great pairing for travel. Ipad makes a good second monitor for macbook when you dont have access to proper second monitor.
*
Just to add on, Ipad also makes a good second monitor for normal windows laptops with the app called ‘Duet’.

ESR on Lazada is a good reputable brand. Been using my Trifold and I quite like the quality for the cheap price. Only problem is it ships from China so gonna take about roughly 10 days to reach.

You got your Adonit note plus dah?

Hi!

Yes, finally got my Adonit Note Plus. I have not try properly yet. Just had 5 mins check and it works. Just that it doesnt do pressure sensitive where it should be, and also the tilt function .. I have not read in details on this yet .. perhaps this just for a few app that is supporting this functions?

Ok, I have done some reading about it, looks like some apps only support the pressure sensitivity and tilt functions. I am using Good Notes as my main notes app and it does not support the above 2 functions. I am too lazy to try other apps as Good Notes is good for me.

It is act as pen only and it is enough for me as I am using mostly to sign pdf doc only. Palm rejection feature is works tho in Good Notes. If you are not into those sketching or something, Note is more than enough. I should have gotten Adonit Note instead of Note+ .. Cheaper by about 100 bucks.

By the way, do anyone know if I can have something like rubber stamp of company info in pdf? Anyone do before?

Duet is 3rd party app. Sidecar i think is Apple's native software feature

I replaced mine 5 times already, Apple makes good stuffs but its cable housings are crap

Too expensive after 3 times of original, I went with “OEM” eventually, first one lasted me 1 year plus, second one less than 50 ringgit

This but if you device is old like mine and the battery’s pretty much gone, I still prefer original but too rich for me to replace every 3 years

you mean wire "edge" which attached to the adapter starts to fall off? there's one type of low cost silicon housing which you can wrap and "melt" it.

Yes that works, however I was too lazy to bother until too late where the wires frayed

Wow you really “eat” up your chargers! How long you’ve used your MacBook? Tbh I think we sometimes takes thing for granted. Apple really looks into all aspects of form and function. Of course I was shocked by the price rm299, as I’ve replaced windows laptop charger before and wasn’t near that price. But even the charger design as the heavy part is designed at the plug area instead of the middle like usual laptops. Just found out what’s the interesting hooks are the charger are for. Or the MagSafe connector. I’ve seen few laptops flying before haha.

That’s the worry, and it seems power burns are not uncommon.

On another topic, seems all the Coverbuddy case shipment came in together at the same time. I’ve received mine yesterday too.

Will share another different perspectives. I quite like it for totally different reasons to others it seems.

Price: it’s cheaper to buy from lazada than directly from US site. Just as the case ALONE might not worth the value. I’ll explain more below. It’s a thin piece of plastic after all.
Form: Minimalism at it’s best. It’s sufficiently quality, again, depending on your needs. Measurements are spot on and there’s few small features that is very well designed. Hence to me the looks compliments Apple’s well designed package. No ugly protrusion than necessary, everything is just nice. No extra bits and it’s just to match ipad as it its. I’m happy with it.
Function: This is where I’m happy the most.

A) as a “case” by itself, it’s not meant to protect from falls but more to scratches; back and sides EXCEPT for one side. It’s also to store the apple pen perfectly - from easily fallen out which is also a risks that’s quite real. It also provides additional surface on the back, from scratches if one places on any surfaces ie tables instead of front which is the screen. It provides additional traction from slippery. In fact there’s a very sufficient tolerance to even convince me to place screen side face down on table instead of back to protect the camera lens which might affect the magnet to secure the keyboard folio cover.

B) and as a “case” to “match” and fit ipad perfectly as a package WITH folio keyboard - perfection. It’s well designed and Well thought out design. Fitment just nice. No more, no less.
Fits and secures to the Apple folio keyboard back piece strongly. Don’t think it reduces the magnet’s strength all. Keyboard works well, no lag due to additional layer of charging magnet on the case. Even the weird looking cut-out one side is meant to have perfect fit when closing with the folio. No significant increase in thickness.

And the best - accidental benefit (or flaw) is that the magnet that sticks not the keyboard side is not that strong anymore. And with the extra “section” next the pen holder - acts as the cut out for me to open ipad ala laptop w ease! I can single hand operate open up and prop it up to use! Hope you guys understand what I’m saying haha.

The only and single flaw, is that harder to access to the pen now as compared to just stick it with magnet. A trade off I’m glad to prevent the pen from falling off or easily knocked off during movement.

Pictures to further highlight my points.
