been searching for discounted/2nd hand 2018 ipad pro models since this 2020 model came out. and thought could save some money since don't need these new features.

most selling 64gb for around rm3000 range; and 256gb rm4000 (cheapest i found rm3500). might as well get the new one. not worth saving few hundred for old and even 2nd hand.

Selling mine 11 inch 256gb wifi for rm3200.. lai lai biggrin.gif

this magic kepboard for ipad can be used for 2018 ipad pro? I saw the camera part is a bit different .. do you think can fit 2018 ipad?
*
Yes can use
2020 ipad pro has bigger camera thus it has bigger cutout, but still will fit just nice with 2018 ipad pro since that is the only physical difference between them.

If you guys are looking for extra protection using the Smart Keyboard Folio, can try SwitchEasy Coverbuddy
It covers the side of the iPad and will stick to the Folio... i assume this can also be use with the upcoming Magic Keyboard since the keyboard has a floating design which the case will never interfere with

I think the weight is expected for Magic Keyboard... since it has:
- built in trackpad
- keyboard backlight
- actual keyboard keys
- hinges, and usb-c charging slot

Yes indeed. I bought this for my folks at home and the plasticky display do bothers me a whole lot, not to mention the gap between can’t be UNSEEN!
*
Ya the display kinda annoys me, especially when you came from Pro model, but i've learn to live with it for now
Already sold off my 2018 11 Pro & rocking the 7th gen for now, realised that I don't need the Pro features for my usage laugh.gif

Just got my 12.9 inch, damn this thing is huge
Definitely not gonna be easy to travel with, so used to the size of my iPad 7th Gen
But watching Youtube, looking at documents, doesn't feel so cramped anymore

after 2-3 weeks of owning this new ipad pro, but maybe in total of 2-3 hours of usage, i hv come to conclusion that this ipad pro is a redundant device for me, as all my files are inside my mbp 1TB storage... so i have decided to put my ipad pro in garage sell even before my magic keyboard arrive. sigh.

looks like i'm still stuck with traditional and conventional computer for years to come.
*
Sell the ipad pro & get the basic iPad, or iPad Air, to complement your MBP
Basic iPad also can do all the stuff that iPad Pro can do because all running with iPadOS, albeit a bit slower due to the processor
120hz refresh rate, LiDAR sensor etc are nice to have, but definitely not essential

Been using my 12.9 inch the whole day today, and even though it is nice to use but I think I will stick to my 7th Gen iPad for now
Better portability and sufficient for all my work tasks biggrin.gif
Might end up in Garage Sale too laugh.gif

You bought from apple store? How to do you claim the warranty? I contacted hotline for apple pencil, they asked me to go to Apple Service or something at KLCC or The Curve. Theres another I forget. Perhaps Midvalley.
*
I‘Ve claimed warranty for faulty Pencil in January, I went to Machines IOI CIty Mall but they asked me to go to Swtich The Mines as that is the nearest Service Centre around Putrajaya area. I went there, walk-in (eventhough it is recommended to set an appointment first), sent my Pencil in, 3 days later got a call to collect my replacement Pencil. As Apple Pencil is a non-repairable item, they will straight replace new unit if yours is faulty. No weird questions or anything, all very smooth.

few days ago when someone asked, what are alternatives for apple pencil? i replied that the original apple pencil is no brainer is the only best option there is. now i would like to take back what i said, sorry, i was wrong sweat.gif

back in 2017, i bought ipad pro (older model), 2018 i bought the newer version, 2019 i downgrade to ipad mini, now i’m back to ipad pro. for each ipad purchase, i’ve bought apple pencil with each of them, from apple pencil 1, to apple pencil 2, then back to pencil 1 for the ipad mini. figured that i’ve bought apple pencil too many times, so yesterday i think back, how bad could the pencil alternatives nowadays be, given so many years already. back then, i did try several stylus but can’t find anything that can replace apple pencil. so i started to google around, saw several comparison reviews of pencil alternatives. it seems apple has allow 3rd party company to use their apple pencil technology?

i saw this adonit note being sold locally, so i thought i wanna give it a try, i contacted the seller, lucky enough he was willing to cod so i can test it before buying. so here you can see, i was sold after testing it  laugh.gif

pairing? so simple, press the button, tap the ipad with the pencil, they are connected almost instantly, no need to do anything else. i can tell that writing using the adonit note is as fluent as as using the apple pencil. the accuracy is also similar. feel like writing using normal pencil, really. the size is just right, and the matte surface on it makes it less slippery.. its just that this version doesn’t have pressure sensitivity (the newer version does) but i don’t need that, i just use to write note mostly. it also has a clip to put in pocket, so 1 less worry to lost or drop pencil like before. but i wouldn’t really mind if this drop, its just RM225, less than half of the price of apple pencil. another advantage is, can turn off the stylus, or it will off itself automatically when left unused for quite sometime. it sounds silly, but i think adonit make better pencil than apple itself  biggrin.gif
*
Logitech Crayon is another alternative too, I used to have it before, quite good I would say. But since it is hard to find a case which can accomodate the bulkiness of it, so I went back to Apple Pencil.
Nowadays there are many China brand Pencil that works quite well, there is 1 that looks exactly like Pencil 2, has palm rejection and tilt control, but lacks pressure sensitivity. It also charges via USB-C, so can share cable with iPad Pro. I gave it to the buyer together when I sold my iPad. The best thing is that it costs only RM90 but works just as well like Pencil 2 (and has similar design too! laugh.gif )

that's a really good price for what you get.
i bought the 12.9" and have been thinking the 11" is actually much better size.
*
Ya very happy with the purchase, moreover the iPad fits nicely inside the pouch that I used for my iPad 10.2 inch..the screen on the Pro is much nicer & immersive (eventhough only 0.8 inch difference tongue.gif )
