yea, for example, maxis on TNB Allo, get symmetrical speed, PPPoE, if can remove bandwidth control on TM Unifi, surely can get symmetrical speed too biggrin.gif

before I upgrade to 500Mbps package, I can get ~52Mbps on Upload but with bufferbloat, meanwhile my friend (Unifi) also get ~52Mbps but bufferbloat OK.

This mean, all Maxis subscriber (PPPoE) are share same profile that speed are symmetrical.

I got more info about DFP-34G-2C2 (ZTE)
Do not buy DFP-34G-2C2, it have many problem and incompatible with certain OLT.

Like me, Maxis under TM Unifi cannot get proper internet/pppoe due to proprietary OMCI that ZTE cannot understand,

They moved to Realtek SoC to fix this issue and support many OLT even support proprietary OMCI by enable "OMCI_FAKE_OK".

Maxis under TM Unifi works when this enable:
CODE

flash set OMCI_FAKE_OK 1
flash set VLAN_CFG_TYPE 1
flash set VLAN_MANU_MODE 2

I plan to buy original orignal realtek XPON SFP ONU to replace my dead existing stick.

Any idea what brand and model of SFP is that?
-----23/2/2021----
It's actually CarlitoxxPro's CPGOS03-0490 v2.0

I bought Hisense LTF7221 X/G-PON

This xPON is passive and did not have SoC Internet Processor, thus not handle OMCI or anykind.

Conclusion: Did not work, require GPON with SFP, example: ZTE F220

The main reason is not working is due to its a XGPON ONU class N1 , which run on different wavelength which is 1270nm Upstream and 1577nm Downstream while GPON is 1310nm upstream and 1490nm downstream.

And yes, it require pluggable SFP type ONU(usually XG/XGS-PON ONU come with Pluggable SFP)

They do support GPON wavelength,
Just no way Mikrotik can handle OMCI or even communicate with the stick

Hi Team,
First of all thanks for this interesting threads. I'm newbie to this forum. I've attempt to do this change from ONU to GPON SFP after following this thread. Bought 1 sercomm Fgs202 and have 1 unused Fortigate 500D.

Action Taken:

1. Captured SLID password from current I-240G-P ONT
2. Tested setup fortigate 500D with pppoe account ( I-240G-P ONT > Fortigate [RJ45] ) successful
3. Plugged in sfp fgs202 in fortigate' sfp port, with fiber inserted light turns ON and detected on webui

Issue : sfp couldn't established WAN connection with pppoe , if not mistaken as advise here before need to change the SLID password inside sfp.
Kindly seek advice on how to access the sfp fgs202 to change the SLID password. I believe this fgs202 don't have webui, need to telnet or something sorry if Im wrong. But not sure how .Hope to learn something during this MCO smile.gif

Thanks all

Have u try telnet to 192.168.2.200/24 and run "set gpon_password YOURSLIDHERE"

Based on picture here, the GPON LAN IP is set as 192.168.2.200 https://forum.openwrt.org/t/support-for-gpo...fp-fgs202/42641

You can't PPPoE on SFP, the SFP Stick works as bridge and your Router are responsible for VLAN and PPPoE
Other issue, maybe your ONT reject OMCI.

Hi ,

GPON LAN IP is set as 192.168.2.200 in fortigate sfp port 3 interface as below

https://pictr.com/images/2021/01/17/7TpUEQ.md.jpg

but telnet to the IP from putty still failed. tested without fiber inserted , will try telnet again later with fiber in.

Hi,

earlier I've tested connection like from ONU I-240G-P > connects into fortigate sfp port with RJ45 through Cisco GLC-T can dial up PPPoE and VLAN 500 set in as WAN interface successfully.
Only when I bypass ONU I-240G-P and directly plug in fiber through Fgs202 sfp in the same above interface, the PPPoE dial up failed. Thanks

I think your Stick get rejected by TM OLT, have you check GPON status, O5 or O3 ?

All Communication And Multimedia Products need type approval if not mistaken. Either from Sirim / MCMC.
