Today I discover something

TWCGPON657 have high quality build, better, less heat.

TWCGPON657 and V2801F using same SoC, but different PCB
TWCGPON657 can use V2801F firmware

By using V2801F firmware, it will cause auto reboot, this happen because of invalid VS_AUTH_KEY
change ELAN_MAC_ADDR require generate new VS_AUTH_KEY

Right Now, I use TWCGPON657 XPON ONU Stick with V2801F Firmware,
Attached Image

Only V2801F firmware works on Maxis/DiGi/Celcom/LAN 2 riding TM Unifi fiber by set OMCI_FAKE_OK, V2801F will make full L2 Bridge what ever OMCI throw

TM Unifi only care your PLOAM Password.

Hi, wanted to know what is the reason you would configure/re-configure this ONU compared to stock/default ?

There many good reason using own ONT.

1. Make All in One with flexibility of SFP on High End/Enterprise Router.

2. Learn more about xPON technology (after know xDSL)

3. Make your setup look Professional 😜

4. Giving us more control and optical reading live (You can't do that on TM Unifi after OMCI kick in)

5. Modify some GPON/PON/OMCI parameters, if you in luck, you can modify Bandwidth Control,

I think "egress" part as mean exit, modifying GEM and OMCI command can trigger alarm on TM OLT, so far so good.

Can you show the speedtest video or gif? I want to look if the upload will spike to more than 500Mbps and down back to the subscribed speed.

Pray for success lol. So good can bypass the upload speed to get symmetrical. However can it bypass TM TCP/IP overhead DL for ISP's leeching TM infra eg Maxis, Digi etc?

Once you remove OMCI Bandwidth, you only bound to PPPoE Account,
so far, without OMCI Bandwidth, no bufferbloat, L3 bandwidth cap are not aggressive as L2

if you bought from Taobao, you need flash V2801F, a bit trick to get it done, once complete, it feel awesome~ GPON ONU in SFP from-factor,

imagine high end consumer router like Asus BRT with 10/5/2.5/1Gbps SFP port, very modularr, can ditch big ONU,... ISP should do this on Enterprise space.

...

I saw many Enterprise/Large Business still use lousy Huawei Home ONU and Home Router, TM is very stupid on this, business plan not like business.

I make this project, to show at TM that ONU can be fitted in SFP Form Factor, don't be so cheap to Business space

Yeah, really good looking with just 1 fibre cable into the router. Save some space too since can throw huawei ONT already
