Satisfied customer here. Networking is not my field and I had issues setting up my router with the SFP GPON. Anime4000 has been nothing but super helpful and patient in solving my issues and ultimately, fixed the issue and now it is up and running! Highly recommended!

existing in bridge mode, after upgrade firmware, any other setting need to done?
i browse at wan tab, only left gpon and rg mode. no bridge.
anything i miss out?

Yesterday (26/11/2024) I doing some experiment on OMCI,
thought to make resilient change on OLT, because I did this:

I found out my VLAN Extended (ME 171) somewhat changed when plugging Black D-Link,
usually VLAN 500 only exist on PPTP, but suddenly VLAN 500 exist on VEIP as well.

so, I tried various ME to see what it trigger the change,

not sure what I did, at 2PM, my internet access was gone, PPPoE cannot dial,

even O5 status, I know this info can be faked, so I had to make a report,
reset port wont help, even CS restart D-Link remotely also not solve the issue,
even... change password wont solve...

thus, report must be open:


I been offline 24 hours and more, found out my account has been temporarily disabled.

it appear my privilege to ignore OLT alarm has been removed,
this not over yet, if this happen, I no need to call CS, just ask them and they willing to investigate.

I asking why this happen, it seem so many DIY and make kacau, TM had to do pro-active to prevent network wide outage...

I still allow to assist TM in use bridge ONU and PON Stick, so far my custom firmware are fine and within specs.

You know what, I just do this, same VLAN from different Logical Interface (PPTP & VEIP), just bridge it:


this method, did fix the speed issue in some area, as unattended improvement, aggregate PPTP and VEIP link for max speed!

this weekend I try to one client house having speed issue with FHTT OLT

today I installed ONU Bridge, where this area using Fiberhome, as expected, Fiberhome OLT having issue with >1Gbps DBA.
Thus, this trick merging PPTP and VEIP solve the issue, and DBA become invalid and no bandwidth profile is set.

I also set the factory default value to Unifi, just in case doing factory reset, it default to Unifi profile

how about huawei OLT for PPTP & VEIP ??

this one I haven't tried yet,

for me with Nokia OLT, PPTP and VEIP share same DBA, so, both is 2100Mbps is set.

i know you are Nokia OLT

because mine still huawei btu that my area infra huawei OLT i unable to verify we don't have dlink

we are waiting offering 2GBPS
i am still use 500Mbps

well, I not sure, I think Huawei OLT DBA at VLAN instead of per-GEM

Well, the base SDK is remain the same, I just fix the Status OLT to display "Port Disabled by OLT".
this make technician troubleshoot easier when requesting VLAN400 at UNI LAN 1

thing is, my dream to reverse engineer whole stick kernel, but simple compile "Hello World" cause 'illegal instruction' 🤣

My prediction is right, TM now follow TIME footsteps, all ONR, if you want to untag VLAN on your existing ONR, you need make a report, then technician come to your place to make a change.

This should fix user can't bridge on existing ONR.

What I been told, when Bridge Mode and VLAN untagged, the ONR will like ONT (no WiFi, no NAT).

to support my ONU Bridge, VoIP VLAN can be requested to untagged or bridge to UNI LAN 1 0x101 instead of UNI VEIP 0xe01 (ME 171 FwdOp rules)

If you using ONR and are concerned about privacy or control, it's better to use old ONT, or using my ONU Bridge Box for autonomy with your own network.

We just subscribe the line from the ISP, then get the ONU bridge box from you and use our own WiFi Router.

Yes, for 1/2Gbps plan.
if non Ultra, better buy used BTU from marketplace like Carousel

My ONU Bridge Box should works with TIME, as same modification from the stick, both use NIJIKA Firmware.

reading this make me miss netw engineer time.. lol.. now no time for it... with GPON keep changing, not sure if i want to ditch Huawei HG8145B7N Wifi 7 unit.. i dont like their wifi setting and thinking change the GPON itself.

since im using TIME 600mbps plan, guess, i will reuse fiberhome unit that maxis gave me..

in your pov, does this switching to fiberhome will works?

Maybe not, since TIME is using all Huawei eqipment, might not be as "Universal" and accepting as TM Net
You could probably easily pickup an old used Huawei from marketplaces though

I have XGSPON Stick, tried on friend house use 600Mbps TIME, but reported as LOS, as no RX1577nm exist

try buy used ONT like HG8240H5, see if you can switch from XGSPON to GPON

thanks for the feedback. might need to explore it as well.. one i was thinking maybe ubiquiti pon can be used, but find out it was not working.

it's not simple as change or swap, there is a lot of OLT ➡️ ONT communication, authorization, list of service, list of port, etc...
surely OLT denied it, this what ONT is hard to hot swap like xDSL era.
