Use OCCT, it detects errors faster then orthos

tips? no tips la. i just put the processor in, set 1:1 FSB:RAM ratio and FSB change to 400 and that's it.

i don't touch vcore
i don't touch vdimm
i don't touch ram timing

biggrin.gif yup. just ratio and FSB only.

not necessary...

i've encounter many times OCCT pass for 1hr or two hour (costum set) but failed orthos after 7-8hour sad.gif

and my E2160 at 3.2gig is fail me after 11hr of orthos!! shakehead.gif doh.gif so i think i have to bump the vcore until 1.475 sweat.gif if anything more than 1.475 i just happy to use 3.0gig only..

3.2gig @ 1.4625v orthos costum (up to 4096kb FTT lengt and 5min time.. costume from blend actually wink.gif ) - failed after 11hrs++ sad.gif
and over 20hrs stable at 1.475vcore.. sweat.gif

so i just happy to run it at 3.0gig @ 1.45

Normally via chipsets are not for ocing :S, you may try with clockgen to pump fsb thumbup.gif
and turn off C1E and EIST in bios

Use 1024 fft and 64 fft, let the cpu burn in first smile.gif
err...you sure you got the settings correct anot? abit high for a L2 stepping...maybe possible to lower the volts if some settings are changed brows.gif

erm.. i run orthos cpu stress for 24 hrs first at stock before try any oc attempt.. tongue.gif

i run 4096fft priority8 on purpose.. wink.gif the proc is 3.0gig orthos and occt stable at 1.4375v but when play games, sometimes it hang.. sometimes it restart.. sometime bluescreen.. that's why i decided to increase the vcore until 1.45v and now everything stable.. smile.gif not yet finish fine-tuning but priority now is to finish my assignments first and until my last paper final exam, i wont touch anything.. wink.gif

erm.. my own rule of thumb.. (my own ler.. not others..) if u use hi-end aircooling, then dont afraid to bump until 1.45v... if u use hi-end wc, then just go for 1.5-1.55.. anything higher i wont run it at 24/7.. of course, however, at your own risk brows.gif

Hi guys, I going to get an Intel Pentium Dual Core E2140 + P35 DS3 soon. Just want to know is there any stepping of E2140 will give a better OC result? I also going to buy a 2*1GB Value RAM. which RAM (what chipset?) you guys will recommend?

for value ram.. try to look at Kingston with either Hynix FP-Y5 or ELPIDA chipset.. but if you found Crucial Value Ram, grab that instead!! wink.gif
