Imma findin da charles poliquin chin up teknique , help me where izit ...lolx , I gotta try it soon , my chin up in deep shyt !!!

Added on August 22, 2007, 10:08 pmOkay I found . It focuses on negative reps , luckily syd taught me last time.

Added on August 22, 2007, 10:24 pmHey guys , mind to explain it briefly to me ?

The ascent should continue until the chin clears the bar. It's important to remember that before initiating the ascent, the athlete should inhale. During the ascent, the pulling action and leaning back action must be done simultaneously. Upon descent, exhaling begins and the trunk should come back to an upright position. As the descent is completed, the arms should be fully extended and the shoulder blade should be elevated. (THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT)

When do I have to breath in and when to breath out ?
when pulling --- breath in ?
go down ---breath out?

no, breath in b4 u pull up, while pulling up breath out, once your reach complete position, where your chin above bar, breath in 1st b4 u start going down. then apply "the pulling action and leaning back action must be done simultaneously"

Hi guys, As some of you might have already read, I'm stopping rippetoes in exchange for a 2x per week routine.I'm aiming for strength so I decided to go on a Olift routine. Below is a more refined routine of the one I posted in the progress thread.

It is split into 2 days, C&J day and snatch day. I won't be doing the actual lifts for fear of injuring my self tongue.gif

You don't expect me to jump straight into the big lifts right? I wouldn't mind doing so if I had a coach. Unfortunately It is not possible.

WTH WTH WTHWTH WTH WTHWTH WTH WTHWTH WTH WTH OMG OMG OMG!!!!! shakehead.gif shakehead.gif shakehead.gif doh.gif

that's the most n00b thing I've heard in my life!!!!!!! That's the most retarded statement ever!!! OMG!!!!!!

A routine is based on these core lifts because they work the explosiveness and reaction and CNS and muscle coordinatioN. IF you're afraid of these lifts, then DON'T use the routine. Find a mark rippetoe routine, find a madcow, formulate a westside routine, or follow a bicep curl routine. U CANNOT use a oly lifting routine, if you don't oly lift. That's a REALLY REALLY silly statement.

T: How can we modify this karate breathing and apply it to weight training?

Pavel: You have to learn to maximize this internal pressure but time it with exertion, in martial arts lingo, "match the breath with the force." One way of doing this is to pull up the rectal sphincter to increase the pressure further, take a normal breath - 75% of maximal breath is usually recommended by Russian scientists - and then you expel the air at really high pressure with your teeth pressed against your tongue: "ts-ts-ts!" Make sure not to release all your air, you need it to protect your back and joints.

In some exercises you have to modify this. For example, in the bench press your rib cage would sink in, your shoulders would come up, and you would die about three inches off your chest. So in the bench, you wait until you reach your sticking point and then power breathe. In squats and deadlifts, of course, you have to hold your breath because you can't afford to lose the air; you need to stabilize your spine. If you are really hard-core you may apply a highly sophisticated "reversed breathing" technique to your squats and deads. If you are interested, pick up an April 2001 copy of Powerlifting USA.
